    • Apparatus for continuously forming concrete blocks or pavers comprises a frame for defining a supporting structure with a mold box flexibly mounted thereon, the mold box having internal cavities contoured to define preselected block patterns, wherein a feed device for receiving concrete material is operable for selective positioning over an upper surface of the mold box for investing concrete material into the cavities. First and second sets of vibrators are mounted, respectively, generally at opposite ends of the mold box means and are operable for being selectively driven by associated first and second power drives. The first and second power drives are selectively operable for synchronizing or independently actuated the first and second sets of vibrators, respectively, so that concrete material invested into the cavities of the mold box may be vibrated so that the concrete material is evenly distributed in substantially equal masses throughout the cavities in the mold box.

    • Procedure for the manufacture of an artificial leg with a sleeve for the fixing of the artificial limb to the remaining part of the leg, in which the procedure embraces the manufacture of a positive model of the extremity which is used for forming the sleeve which is built into the artificial limb.The purpose of the invention is to facilitate individual adaptation concerning the form of the sleeve so that total surface contact is achieved against the leg, and also to reduce the manual work and the risk of failure.The invention is characterized by the sleeve being manufactured from an injection moulded standard sleeve of clear thermoplastic material with truncated conic form which forms an inner sleeve in the finished sleeve. The inner sleeve is roughly shaped after the model in heated condition and is tried on the leg, when any deviations in form and irregularities in contact pressure are established by visual inspection through the clear material of the inner sleeve, after which the shape is finally adjusted in one or more steps. When essentially total surface contact has been achieved the inner sleeve is strengthened externally by laminating and is built into the artificial limb.

    • Two mold sections of a mold for compressing a ceramic or refractory material into tile preforms are mounted on respective platens of a pressing machine for displacement toward and away from one another. One of the platens is a part of a frame which further includes upright beams and a support stationarily mounted on the upper ends of the beams. A plurality of cylinder-and-piston units the pistons of which are accommodated in bores of the movable platen and the piston rods of which extend outwardly of the bores and toward the support, is distributed over the movable platen and so acts thereon as to avoid bending of the movable platen. A reaction member is juxtaposed with the support and moves relative thereto between an active position in which the piston rods of the units penetrate into the then coaxial holes of the reaction member to permit the retraction of the movable platen, and an active position in which the piston rods of the units abut against abutment areas of the reaction member so that the units exert desirably distributed forces on the movable platen during the pressing phase of the operation of the pressing arrangement.
