    • A power tool has a driving shaft driving a working element, a fastening piece fastening the working element to the driving shaft having a projecting shaft insertable into the driving shaft, a locking assembly locking the projecting shaft in the driving shaft having a locking member wherein the locking member has a locking position for locking the projecting shaft with the driving shaft and a loosening position for loosening the projecting shaft with the driving shaft. At the locking position, the fastening piece is pressed towards an end portion of the driving shaft by an elastic component. The locking assembly further includes a movable member arranged outside of the driving shaft, the movable member having a first portion and a second portion which can be directly or indirectly mated with the locking member wherein a radial distance of the first portion relative to a shaft center of the driving shaft is unequal to that of the second portion relative to the shaft center of the driving shaft.

    • A scroll saw has a base including integral walls forming a gear casing, a frame assembly mounted on the base, and lower and upper oscillating arm members pivotally mounted on the frame assembly. The gear casing houses gear and counterweight assemblies for driving and counterbalancing the oscillating motion of the lower and upper arm members. A saw blade is removably mounted between corresponding free ends of the lower and upper arm members. The ends of the saw blade are prepositioned between a pair of blade holders, and the entire assembly of blade and blade holders is then attached as a unit to the free ends of the arm members. Blade tension is adjusted by means of a tensioning system that indexes blade tension to rotation of a tension knob. The saw further includes a nonflexible tube which functions as a combination airblaster and blade guard for directing an air stream into a cutting area to remove sawdust and other debris while preventing accidental contact with the saw blade.

    • A scroll saw is disclosed having a base with a table mounted at one end and a horizontal pivot shaft mounted at an opposite end of the base. A yoke member having upper and lower arms and a curved bight connecting the arms is mounted on the pivot shaft at the curved bight. The arms of the yoke member terminate in upper and lower ends having a saw blade connected therebetween and extending through the table, and means are provided for reciprocating the yoke member and pivot shaft to effect movement of the saw blade. The opposite ends of the pivot shaft are mounted in tapered roller bearings disposed in bearing support openings in the base. Cap members are provided at each end of the bearing assembly to hold the roller bearings and shaft in place and a wave spring is mounted between one cap and one roller bearing to apply a compressive force to the roller bearings in the direction toward the yoke to hold the bearings, pivot shaft and yoke in place. The yoke member is adjustably locked to the pivot shaft by a pair of set screws which can be released to permit axial adjustment thereof.

    • One end of an oscillating saw blade has a notch, and spaced from the notch is a hole through the blade. The head of the tool has a slot having a shaft extending through the rear end of the slot for receiving the notch. A pin extends partially into the slot for receiving the hole. A closer in the form of a cam is cammed into and out of the slot for moving the hole on the blade onto the pin and moving the end of the blade having the hole and the notch against the bottom of the slot. The cam closer is locked in place to lock the blade in the slot. A handle is attached to the cam closer for manually rotating the cam, and the cam has an overcenter orientation where the resilient forces from the blade pushing on the cam tend to rotate the cam to a closed position. A stop is provided to intersect the handle and stop it in its locked position. A jaw of resilient material may be provided between the blade and the bottom of the slot to spread forces from the cam on the blade. The jaw is slightly curved so that camming tends to straighten the jaw, but the tendency for the jaw to resume its slightly curved orientation creates a force on the cam urging the cam to its overcenter position. The jaw also has a lip to prevent the blade from being inserted between the jaw and the cam. The jaw has an aperture through which the shaft passes, and the jaw slides along the shaft. A second aperture in the jaw mates with the pin to secure the jaw when the cam is holding the jaw against the blade.
