摘要： Disclosed herein are exemplary embodiments of suture securement devices that replace the need to tie knots in sutures. Some embodiments comprise an annular outer body and one or more suture engagement tabs extending inwardly from the outer body. The devices can comprise a superelastic and/or shape-memory material and have a generally in-plane initial configuration. The suture engagement portions are deformable out-of-plane to an active configuration with the outer body compressed and the tabs interlocked with each other. The device can be heat-set in the deformed configuration. The interlocked tabs exert a pinching force on sutures passing between them that restricts the sutures from sliding through the opening in one longitudinal direction.

摘要： An apparatus for securing a trash bag in a container is disclosed, where the apparatus has a removable and replaceable scented bag retaining element which extends outwardly from the main body of the apparatus. The main body has a pair of spaced channel arms that receive, guide and support the retaining element in proper position against the main body, and the replaceable scented retaining element has a releasable locking tab which is received by and locks within a slot in the main body of the apparatus. A central membrane of the retaining element has a number of slits that form a number of flexible flaps which deform when pressed to received and retain the trash bag. The main body is adhesively mountable to the outer surface of the container.

摘要： A fluid flow prevention device to be used with flexible conduits, and more particularly with toy balloons. The device is made of a resilient material and has a centrally and axially located normally closed slit through which a ring of a balloon's mouth may be inserted when the slit is forced open, whereby a neck of the balloon is maintained within the slit as the slit closes. After inflation of the balloon's body, the body and the ring are rotated in opposite directions, whereby the neck of the balloon is caused to twist. The resilient material of the device maintains closure of the slit whereby the wall defining the slit maintains the neck in its twisted position and prevents egress of fluid. In addition, the contractile force of the twisted neck draw the ring and the body of the balloon into frictional contact with the top and bottom surfaces of the device and further prevents untwisting of the neck and further prevents egress of fluid.
