摘要： An automatic document feed device having reading means for stopping a conveyed document to a reading position on a platen and sequentially reading images of two sides of the document one side by one, includes an adjusting unit, provided upstream of the reading position on the platen, for adjusting an edge of the document, wherein the adjusting unit have a function for adjusting the edge of the document which is fed to read one side, and for reversing the document through the platen and adjusting the edge of the document which is fed again to read the other side of the document. A feed unit includes one of feed guide members and a feed roller in the feed path. The feed path unit is rotatably supported, thereby enabling the feed path to open.

When images received by a facsimile are printed, in accordance with the memory remaining amount, images are read out from storing means and are recorded by recording means in such a manner that, after a predetermined number of one sides of recording media are successively recorded, the recording medium is directed into a recording medium reverse-rotating mechanism, and one side of another recording medium until the recording medium is picked up from the reverse-rotating mechanism and is recorded so as to record the other side of the recording medium. Further, in accordance with the memory remaining amount, front and back sides of the recording medium can be read out and recorded alternately, or only one sides of the recording media can be recorded.

After both sides of the original are read, the original is fed to the feeding position via the switchback path. The feed device transports the original via the reading position while the original is overlapped with the next original, and the discharge device discharges the first original via the discharge outlet.

摘要： The present invention relates to an automatic document feeder for manipulating and scanning multiple documents, sheets, cards and sheet-like substrates. The present invention is especially suitable for automatic feeding and scanning of a stack of business cards or other material, which is sufficiently rigid. In an embodiment, a card feeder includes a vertically movable pickup roller, a backstop incline, and output rollers. The card feeder uses the pickup roller to separate and push the top card of the stack against a backstop incline. The card slides upwards along the incline until it engages the output rollers, which move the card past a scanner. The present invention relates to embodiments, which transfer an output card to a card scanner using output rollers to push the card toward scanner input rollers. The output rollers and scanner input rollers can be synchronized or the output rollers can freely rotate in one direction after power to a motor driving rotation is cut off. This allows the scanner input roller(s) to pull the card through or by the output roller(s) into the scanner without synchronization during the scanning.
