摘要： A communications system by which a user may provide inputs using an accessory device is provided. The accessory device may provide instructions to the communications device over any suitable wired or wireless communications path. The accessory device may include any suitable input mechanism for providing an input, including for example one or more switches, sliders, knobs, keys, motion sensing components, environmental sensing components, or any other input mechanism that the user may actuate. A communications system by which a communications device may transmit urgent communications requests is provided. The user may select an urgent option when transmitting a communications request to cause the recipient communications device to enable an urgent mode in which the recipient communications device may change the notification scheme to ensure that the recipient receives the urgent communications request.

摘要： A method for handling emergency calls includes: receiving, by a user equipment attached to a mobile communication network, emergency call capability information indicative of whether the mobile communication network supports an emergency service for the user equipment in a case where the user equipment is connected to the mobile communication network via a wireless access point connected to an external packet data network; and initiating, by the user equipment, an emergency call via the wireless access point or via an access network of the mobile communication network different from the wireless access point based on whether or not the emergency call capability information indicates that the mobile communication network supports the emergency service for the user equipment in the case where the user equipment is connected to the mobile communication network via the wireless access point.

摘要： The present invention provides a method for requesting location-based assistance executed on a mobile device of an assistance requester, and a method and system for providing location-based assistance executed on a server of a joint assistance service provider. The present invention integrates mobile positioning and telecommunications technologies to provide assistance provision information. In the present invention, an assistance request module of the mobile device is activated for execution to locate the assistance requester; assistance request information containing the assistance requester's location information is transmitted to the server of the joint assistance service provider. Then, the mobile device is connected to a social networking website or an assistance provider via the server of the joint assistance service provider to receive real-time assistance provision information. The present invention improves conventional assistance request methods as well as assistance provision timings. Also, the assistance request information, containing the assistance requester's location information, is analyzed to provide more accurate assistance-related data to the assistance provider. Therefore, the present invention allows the efficiency of providing assistance to be improved.

摘要： A system for exchanging GPS or other position data between devices for purposes of group activities, child location monitoring, work group coordination, dispatching of employees etc. Cell phones and other wireless devices with GPS receivers have loaded therein a Buddy Watch application that communicates with a remote Buddy Watch Server. The server gets or maintains position data for the wireless devices. When the server receives a request from a first device to set up a temporary position-sharing relationship between it and a second device, the server facilitates symmetrical position sharing between the two devices. While the relationship is active, the server can receive updated position data from one or both devices, and if necessary calculate or recalculate a path based on the updated data. The server can also alert one of the devices should the other move too close to or too far from a specified location. The request message or messages used to establish the temporary position-sharing relationship may include a timeout specifying when the server is to sever the position-sharing relationship.
