    • Power converters are disclosed. One power electronic converter for connecting AC and DC electrical networks and transferring power therebetween includes a converter limb extending between two DC terminals and having limb portions separated by an AC terminal. Each limb portion includes a chain-link converter including at least one rationalized module that has first and second sets of series-connected current flow control elements connected in parallel with at least one energy storage device. The current flow control elements and energy storage device(s) in each rationalized module combine to selectively provide a voltage source to control the configuration of an AC voltage at the AC terminal. The converter further includes a controller to selectively control the switching of the current flow control elements to simultaneously switch both limb portions into circuit to form a current circulation path including the converter limb and the DC electrical network.

    • A voltage conversion device includes a voltage conversion unit and a control unit. The voltage conversion unit includes an input rectifier circuit, a storage capacitor, a storage inductor, a transformer, a switch, and a rectifier component. A first end of the storage inductor is electrically coupled to a first output end of the input rectifier circuit. A first end of the transformer is electrically coupled to a second output end of the input rectifier circuit. A second end of the transformer is electrically coupled to a second end of the storage inductor. The switch is electrically coupled to a third end of the transformer. The control unit is configured to provide a control signal to the switch according to a current passing through the switch and at least one of an output voltage and an output current.

    • This disclosure relates generally to radio frequency (RF) switching converters and RF amplification devices that use RF switching converters. In one embodiment, an RF switching converter includes a switching circuit operable to receive a power source voltage, a switching controller configured to switch the switching circuit so that the switching circuit generates a pulsed output voltage from the power source voltage, and an RF filter configured to convert the pulsed output voltage into a supply voltage, wherein the RF filter includes a decoupling capacitor configured to receive the supply voltage. The switching controller is configured to generate a ripple correction current that is injected into the decoupling capacitor such that the decoupling capacitor filters the ripple correction current. The decoupling capacitor outputs the ripple correction current such that the ripple correction current reduces a ripple variation in a supply current level of a supply current resulting from the supply voltage.

    • A converter full-wave rectifies a single-phase voltage, and outputs the rectified voltage across DC power supply lines. An inverter receives the rectified voltage, and supplies a three-phase AC current to an inductive load. A power buffer circuit is connected between the DC power supply lines. The power buffer circuit includes a discharge circuit and a charge circuit. The discharge circuit includes a capacitor and a switch connected in series to each other. The discharge circuit is configured, for example, by a boost chopper, and includes a switch, a reactor, and a diode. The power buffer circuit provides and receives part of pulsations of a power input into the converter to and from the DC power supply lines.
