摘要： An apparatus for creating a musical composition comprising an audio interface, and audio converter module, and a multi-track compositor module is disclosed. The audio interface operably receives audio from an audio input device and outputting audio to an audio output device. The audio converter module is operably connected to the audio interface to convert audio received via the audio interface into an audio track having one or more partitions. The multi-track compositor module is configured to receive a first audio track and a second audio track and automatically score each partition of the first and second audio tracks based on one or more criteria. The multi-track compositor module is then configured to construct a third audio track from the partitions of the first and second audio tracks based on the scores for each partition. A method is also provided.

摘要： A system for assisting an end user to develop a musical composition comprising a data storage medium, a plurality of musical assets stored in the data storage medium, a user interface, and an audio converter module. Each of the plurality of musical assets are associated with a functional attribute and a visual attribute, where the visual attribute provides a visual suggestion to an end user regarding the functional attribute of the musical asset. The user interface is coupled to an audio interface, a display driver and a user input handler; and is capable of rendering a graphical display that enables the end user to select between one or more visual attributes. The audio converter module captures audio recorded by the end-user through the audio interface, processes the audio; and produces a multi-track musical compilation comprised of a plurality of audio tracks mixed together in a manner where the multiple tracks are substantially musically harmonious with one another. When the end-user selects one or more visual attributes via the user interface, the audio converter is also configured to identify the musical assets associated with the one or more selected visual attributes, and alter at least one portion of an audio track based on the functional attributes associated with the identified musical assets; wherein the audio track is one the plurality of audio tracks.

摘要： The disclosed generative composition system produces a composition to a briefing that describes a musical journey in emotional descriptions. The composition is assembled from concatenated interchangeable Form Atoms “FAs” selectable by tags aligning emotional descriptions with respective compositional heuristics. Each FA has self-contained constructional properties representative of an historical musical corpus. These heuristics support generation of chords, in chord schemes of musical tonics, achieving an equivalent form function. Each FA also includes chord spacer heuristics that temporally space generated chords across a defined musical window, and a chord list in a local tonic defining branching structures giving options for generating different chords. A progression descriptor, in combination with a form function, expresses musically a question, an answer or a statement, with each FA creating a meta-map of a chord scheme for a musical section. Musical transitions between FA reflect groupings in which FA have similar tags but different constructional properties.

摘要： A generative composition system reduces existing musical artefacts to constituent elements termed “Form Atoms”. These Form Atoms may each be of varying length and have musical properties and associations that link together through Markov chains. To provide myriad new composition, a set of heuristics ensures that musical textures between concatenated musical sections follow a supplied and defined briefing narrative for the new composition whilst contiguous concatenated Form Atoms are also automatically selected to see that similarities in respective and identified attributes of musical textures for those musical sections are maintained to support maintenance of musical form. Independent aspects of the disclosure further ensure that, within the composition work, such as a media product or a real-time audio stream, chord spacing determination and control are practiced to maintain musical sense in the new composition. Further, a structuring of primitive heuristics operates to maintain pitch and permit key transformation. The system and its functionality provides signal analysis and music generation through allowing emotional connotations to be specified and reproduced from cross-referenced Form-Atoms.

摘要： Systems and methods are provided to implement and facilitate cross-fading, interstitials and other effects/processing of two or more media elements in a personalized media delivery service. Effects or crossfade processing can occur on the broadcast, publisher or server-side, but can still be personalized to a specific user, in a manner that minimizes processing on the downstream side or client device. The cross-fade can be implemented after decoding the relevant chunks of each component clip, processing, recoding and rechunking, or, the cross-fade or other effect can be implemented on the relevant chunks to the effect in the compressed domain, thus obviating any loss of quality by re-encoding. A large scale personalized content delivery service can limit the processing to essentially the first and last chunks of any file, there being no need to processing the full clip.

摘要： A content server generates sponsored audio including procedurally generated background music. The content server obtains reference music features describing musicological characteristics of reference songs as well as sponsored audio information received from a third-party. The content server determines music generation parameters based on the sponsored audio information and based on a music model mapping the reference music features to music generation parameters. The music model may incorporate machine learning techniques to improve the mapping. The content server generates background music by using the determined music generation parameters as input to a procedural music algorithm, and generates sponsored audio by combining the generated background music concurrently with an audio voiceover obtained from the sponsored audio information. The sponsored audio is provided to a client device, which presents the sponsored audio to a user.

During operation, the system recognizes a sequence of sound primitives in an audio stream, wherein a sound primitive is associated with a semantic label comprising one or more words that describe a sound characterized by the sound primitive. Next, the system feeds the sequence of sound primitives into a finite-state automaton that recognizes events associated with sequences of sound primitives. Finally, the system feeds the recognized events into an output system that generates an output associated with the recognized events to be displayed to a user.
