摘要： A method used for determining the capacity of a battery. The method includes determining, via a controller, if the battery has a first capacity sufficient to support a conditioning cycle. In response to determining that the battery has the first capacity sufficient to support the conditioning cycle, the conditioning cycle is activated. The method includes partially discharging the battery at a constant rate while measuring a plurality of battery parameters. A second capacity of the battery is estimated based on the battery parameters measured at the constant discharge rate. The method increases estimation accuracy of the battery's capacity.

摘要： Non-sequential monitoring of battery cells in battery monitoring systems, and related components, systems, and methods are disclosed. In one embodiment, a battery monitoring system control unit is provided. The battery monitoring system control unit is configured to control battery monitoring devices. Each battery monitoring device is configured to be coupled to a subset of battery cells electrically connected in series in a sequential order to form a battery. The battery monitoring system control unit is further configured to instruct the battery monitoring devices to test an ohmic value of each battery cell of the battery cells of the battery in a non-sequential order. In this manner, heat generated in the battery monitoring devices from the testing may be more effectively dissipated, which can also allow for the battery monitoring devices to be employed in higher operating temperature environments.

The auxiliary power supply test method includes: applying a charging disable signal, which interrupts a charging operation by an auxiliary power supply unit for a predetermined period of time, to the auxiliary power supply unit; monitoring a charging voltage of the auxiliary power supply unit in a time interval in which the charging disable signal is applied to the auxiliary power supply unit; determining whether the auxiliary power supply unit is defective, based on whether the monitored charging voltage is less than a predetermined threshold voltage, wherein the auxiliary power supply unit supplies auxiliary power, obtained based on the charging voltage, to a system power supply line in a case of a sudden power-off.

The common load is coupled to either the battery for momentary load testing thereof, or to a power supply when heat is to be generated by the load for space heating of an interior of an enclosure. Providing only a single load for both space heating and battery testing results in reduced component costs, space savings and simplification of connections and wiring harnesses required. Power resistors, active components such as transistors or MOSFETs, and/or resistive heat tracing may be used as the common load, and deposed within the interior of the enclosure.

摘要： A battery condition diagnosis apparatus for a vehicle gradually supplies electricity to an electric motor of an electric power steering apparatus when a predetermined time elapses after an ignition switch is turned off. The apparatus diagnoses the deteriorated condition of the battery on the basis of the amount of supplied electricity and the detected battery voltage which changes in accordance therewith. The electric motor may be a brushless DC motor. In this case, current is supplied to the electric motor such that only d-axis armature current Id in the d-q coordinate system flows, to thereby prevent the electric motor from rotating, whereby safety is secured. Accordingly, the condition of the battery can be accurately diagnosed by supplying electricity to the electric motor without changing the condition of the vehicle.
