    • A connection of two pipes each including a liner. Liner sections connected to the liners are sections joined together forming a joint of the liner sections. An electrofusion coupling may overlie the joint of the liner sections and be used to fuse the joint. A collar may be positioned to overlie the joint of the liner sections. A bushing may be positioned between the joint of the liner sections and the collar. Hubs may be connected to the ends of the pipes. The liner sections and hubs may include corresponding structure which resists movement of the liner sections away from the joint of the liner sections. A connection of two pipes each including a liner may be formed according to disclosed methods.

    • A connector for lined pipelines includes a tube having opposed male interface elements extending inwardly from respective ends of the tube. One or more circumferential permeable chokes project radially from each male interface element. The chokes minimise flow of oxidising fluid from the bore into the micro-annulus between the liner and the pipe while maximising flow of fluid from the micro-annulus into the bore in the event of catastrophic pressure drop in the bore. To maintain gaps between the tube ends and the pipe liners for fluid flow, shoulder formations defined by radially-projecting bands extend circumferentially around the tube. The connector may be used in a joint arrangement where each liner includes a body section, an end section of lesser thickness and greater bore than the body section that terminates short of an end of the pipe, an inner step disposed between the body section and the end section, and an outer step disposed between the end section and the pipe.

    • A welded joint for metal pipes provided with an inner lining, which is resistant to damages caused by the fluids flowing through them. The pipes are machined in the inside at the areas next to the ends to be joined, forming an undercut at each end. An spacer ring is inserted in the hollow annular space formed by both undercuts. The outer diameter of this spacer ring is substantially equal to the diameter of the corresponding undercuts, and its axial length is substantially equal or less than the sum of the axial lengths of the undercuts of the pipes to be joined. The spacer ring is made of an outer annular layer of a high thermal conductivity metal and at least one inner annular layer of heat-insulating and heat resistant material. The outer annular layer abuts in heat conducting contact with the metal pipes within said undercuts, and the metal pipes are joined by a weld seam.

    • Means for securing a polymer liner to the inner surface of a pipe comprises an end piece consisting of a hub portion and a corrosion resistant metallic insert. The polymer hub is fusion welded to the end of the liner, and the metallic insert is seal welded portion of the inner surface of the pipe clad with corrosion resistant material at a distance from the outer end of the pipe. The clad portion may be provided by a pup piece welded to the end of the pipe. This arrangement allows two lengths of lined pipes to be joined by welding with a continuous corrosion resistant internal surface, without damage to the polymer pipe linings and in a manner which allows an assembled pipe string to be spooled onto a reel for subsequent pipelaying operations. In the preferred embodiment, the metal insert is screw-threaded to the polymer hub with an elastomeric seal therebetween, which provides a secondary seal between the end piece and the pipe wall. An alternative means of terminating a polymer lining sleeve for other purposes, such as a flange-type joint, is also disclosed.
