    • A clip which is easily removed from an object to be fixed is provided. The clip includes: two parts including a first member 1 and a second member 2, the first member having a head portion 4 and a shaft portion 5, and the second member having a flange portion 11 and a leg portion 12, wherein an opening 13 is formed in the flange portion of the second member, and the leg portion of the second member is split into two split leg portions 16 to form a gap 17, which communicates with the opening and into which the shaft portion of the first member is inserted between the split leg portions 16, and wherein elastic blades 18 projecting radially are provided in multiple stages along a vertical direction on outer peripheral surfaces of the split leg portions. Consequently, if the shaft portion of the first member is pulled out from the gap between the split leg portions of the second member, the shaft portion of the first member ceases to be present in the gap formed between the split leg portions of the second member. Therefore, if the first member together with the second member is subsequently removed from the object to be fixed while the head portion of the first member is being gripped, the split leg portions are greatly deflected inwardly by making use of the gap, so that it becomes possible to easily remove the clip itself.

    • In aircraft construction, connection elements for connecting layers of insulating material onto walls are subject to special requirements for ease of installation, weight considerations, and resistance to heat. The invention provides a connection arrangement, in particular for superimposed layers of material, whose function is not impaired under extreme heat. The connection arrangement is comprised by a pin with a, head or head arrangement, engaging positions, and a retaining element. The pin, the head or the head arrangement, and retaining element are made up of a skeleton and an outer material where the skeleton is made of a material more resistant to heat than the outer material. Following destruction or removal of the outer material by heat, the remaining skeleton parts of the pin, head part, and retaining element maintain their connections and structure keeping the layers of material in place.

    • A one-piece cable tie includes a locking head and an attached strap, the locking head being adapted to receive and selectively engage a portion of the strap when the tie is formed into a closed loop. The cable tie additionally includes a fir-tree fastener formed onto the locking head, the fastener being sized and shaped to be fittingly inserted through a quarter-inch circular opening in a panel. The fastener includes a stem and a plurality of flutes formed onto the stem in such a manner so as not to interfere with one another when the fastener is being fittingly inserted through the opening in the panel. Because the fastener does not experience flute interference when inserted through a panel opening, the fastener is characterized as having a relatively low insertion force (i.e., the force required to insert the fastener into the panel opening) while maintaining a relatively high extraction force (i.e., the force required to withdraw the fastener from the panel opening).

    • A retainer for securing items to a wall of a vehicle that may be installed by the user without the use of special tools or fasteners. The retainer includes an upper component that is slidably mounted to a lower component through the use of mating rails. The upper component includes an integral ring for securing items thereto, such as cargo nets, and the lower component includes a retainer leg that may be snap-fitted into an opening formed in a vehicle wall. A release member on the lower component engages a rib on the upper component for locking the upper component to the lower component.
