    • A method of developing, mining and restoring a mining property having one or more mineral bearing rock seams is provided. Three-dimensional topographic control data, mineral bearing rock seam location data, water flow data, and overburden stratification and constituency data are collected and a topographic map of the mine property is prepared. An access road is located on the map to the mineral bearing rock seams and various environmental control facilities, topsoil storage areas and overburden disposal sites are identified and located on the map. Next, the mining operations are broken into sequential phases and placed on the topographic map. Mining of the seam material is then accomplished by sequential phases. After completing the first phase, each succeeding sequential phase is completed. During each succeeding sequential phase, a portion of the mine property in the preceeding phase is preferably restored. Finally, after all sequential phases are complete, the remaining portions of the mine property are restored and the area revegetated.

    • An improved method for mining and processing phosphate matrix in its dry state utilizing a gas moving at supersonic velocity as the carrier fluid to perform the various process steps, in a substantially closed system, that yields dry high grade phosphatic materials and dry sand and clay fractions and to recombine and thoroughly mix the sand and clay fractions in approximately equal proportions by weight as they are produced and to transport the sand-clay mixture along with the naturally radioactive Radon-222 gas that is generated during the processing to the mined out pits and depositing them therein after which the leach zone materials of the overburden are deposited thereover and then depositing thereover the sandy materials of the overburden with provisions being made in preselected areas to form lakes to complete the process of reclaiming the land to its natural state immediately and without danger of radiation from the buried radioactive materials.

    • A mining method including land reclamation and hydropower and water resources development including removing the ore from the ore body in a predetermined pattern so that the remaining ore body defines a grid network of cellular units, the ore removal being performed progressively such that adjacent cellular units are in various stages of development simultaneously and filling the mined-out cells with overburden from adjacent ore body; constructing terrace ponds above the elevation of the top of the mined-out cells, the terrace ponds being constructed from overburden material; constructing dams between adjacent terrace ponds, the dams overlying an elevated portion of the ore body previously used as a plant pillar or access entry pillar; and selectively filling the terrace ponds and pillar ponds with mill tailing slurry to a predetermined reclaimed surface elevation so that the reclaimed surface consists predominantly of a slime fraction suited to agricultural re-use of the land.

    • Disclosed herein is a new concept in blasting which is based on a unique theory that permits total utilization of the energy of a blasting charge. The method of this invention enables one, through a set procedure, to control the direction and distance of placement of huge volumes of earth and/or the degree of breakage of a volume of material adjacent the area effected by the blast. The method requires systematic test blasts to determine parameters for use in established formula so that the desired end of control blasting of huge volumes of earth can be attained. The scope of this invention is unlimited in its application to mining, hydropower development, construction projects, etc.
