摘要： A thermal transfer donor element is provided which comprises a support, a light-to-heat conversion layer, an interlayer, and a thermal transfer layer. When the above donor element is brought into contact with a receptor and imagewise irradiated, an image is obtained which is free from contamination by the light-to-heat conversion layer. The construction and process of this invention is useful in making colored images including applications such as color proofs and color filter elements.

Also provided is a method of crosslinking a resin by leaser irradiation, which is useful in the production of colored images.

摘要： A thermal transfer sheet for printing a printed matter having a metallic luster comprised of a substrate, a deposition anchor layer, a metal deposition layer and an adhesive layer. The deposition anchor layer, the metal deposition layer and the adhesive layer are formed in this order on one surface of the substrate. The deposition anchor layer contains a linear polymer having a glass transition temperature of not less than 130.degree. C. by an amount of not less than 40 weight % of a total weight of the deposition anchor layer to thereby preventing the metal deposition layer from clouding due to high heat of a thermal head. The adhesive layer is formed of a mixture containing a wax and a thermoplastic resin and a composition ratio in amount of the thermoplastic resin to the wax is made smaller on a side to be contacted a transfer-receiving material than that on a side contacting the metal deposition layer along a direction of thickness of the adhesive layer to thereby provide a good appearance of the luster surface on the printed matter having an irregular surface.

摘要： There is provided by the present invention a coating formulation and thermal transfer ribbon and printer which provide printed images that will permanently mark ceramic material when the printed image is applied to the surface of a ceramic article and fired. These formulations and ribbons contain ceramic pigments that will fuse to the surface of a ceramic material when fired. The printed images can be applied to ceramic materials using the decals of this invention which comprise a printed image on a sacrificial receiving substrate that vaporizes or decomposes when fired. Methods for permanently marking ceramic articles are also provided as are permanently marked ceramic articles.

摘要： Provided is two kind of thermal transfer sheets comprising a substrate and a white transfer layer, the white transfer layer being to be transferred onto an image-formed portion of an image-receiving sheet. In the one kind, white transfer layer includes a white ink layer containing a white pigment and/or a filler, and has a total light transmittance of 30 to 95% and a haze of 30 to 95% due to the white ink layer. In another kind, the white transfer layer includes a white ink layer and a peeling layer, the white ink layer containing a white pigment and/or a filler, the peeling layer laminated between the white ink layer and the substrate, and capable of causing a cohesive failure thereby converting into an irregular surface of a printed material through a transferring process. The present invention also provides printed materials by the using of the thermal transfer sheets described above and recording methods for producing of the printed materials. The printed material can be used as an electric-decorating display member.
