The webs have therethrough plural perforations, and the material of each web between adjacent perforations therein is deflected to form a rib extending at an angle to the web. At least one tube has formed integrally therewith a projecting track which extends parallel to the longitudinal axes. Plural heat exchanger elements are connected at the respective tracks thereof to form a tube bundle.

The chordal partition divides the space within the tubular exterior wall into two longitudinally extendingg tubular spaces disposed in back-to-back relation. A pair of oppositely disposed edges of the sheet of material extend longitudinally of the body. One such tubular body embodiment has one such longitudinally extending edge of the sheet disposed inside one of the tubular spaces and the other of the longitudinally extending sheet edges of the sheet disposed outside the exterior wall of the body. An alternate tubular body embodiment is provided in which both such longitudinally extending edges of the sheet are disposed outside the exterior wall of the body.

摘要： A process for bonding a first sheet of non-woven plexifilamentary polymeric material to a second sheet of compatible, thermoplastic, polymeric material by applying at least one stream of hot polymeric material to the second sheet of polymeric material to form a narrow continuous bead and after a time sufficient to allow the hot polymeric material of the bead to begin to fuse the first sheet of plexifilamentary polymeric material, simultaneously cooling and deforming the bead so that it permeates the first sheet of plexifilamentary polymeric material and so that its edges extend beyond the region where the polymer has permeated the first sheet of plexifilamentary polymeric material. The hot-melt polymer bonds the two sheets together in the region where it permeates the plexifilamentary material, and forms a continuous bond between the superposed layers. The structure may then be slit through the bead to form a porous tube which is particularly useful as an irrigation tubing.

摘要： Apparatus and method for the continuous manufacture of hollow articles formed of fiber and liquid, heat curable resin material. The articles are made by folding ribbons of fiber mat, while dry, over and around one or more mandrels having an exterior configuration which delineates the hollow cavity, or cavities, extending longitudinally through the article. The folded disposition of the mat ribbons is maintained rather precisely thereafter to minimize puckering and/or drag as they move to, and through the die. Only after the mat ribbons are folded is the resin applied to the mat. Even though a quantity of resin sufficient, or in excess of the amount required, to impregnate the mat may be applied, it is applied in such a way that the mat is preferably wetted only partially. Strands of roving and/or, if desired, a wire reinforcement, may be drawn simultaneously into a die with the partially impregnated, folded mat. The aperture between the mandrel and the die progressively constricts causing hydraulic pressure to complete the impregnation of the mat. The application of heat to the die cures the resin, forming a composite article which is continuously drawn from the die.

摘要： Flexible corrugated tubing, preferably formed of a thermoplastic material having a plurality of thin strips or beads of the same plastic material used to form the tubing. The stripes or beads are arranged at discrete angular positions along the interior surface of the tubing and extend from internal peak to internal peak for the length of the tubing section. The introduction of the thin plastic beads has no measurable effect upon the flexibility of the tubing and is extremely effective in eliminating whistling in operation. The tubing may be formed in a continuous process, for example, in the manner described in U.S. Pat. No. 3,280,430, issued Oct. 25, 1966, which is further provided with means for either extruding beads of plastic material to form the plastic stripes or is provided with scraping means for scraping small portions of plastic material utilized to form the corrugated configuration and extending the scraped material from internal peak to internal peak along the length of the continuously formed tubing.
