摘要： An orthopedic implant inserter is provided with removable jaws. The jaws are connected to handles of the inserter by retainers. Each retainer includes a shaft and a latch. The shaft is configured to be received within mounting bores of a jaw and the associated handle. The latch is connected to the shaft and movable between a release configuration and a retaining configuration. In the release configuration, the shaft is removable from the mounting bores and the jaw is thereby removable from the associated handle. In the retaining configuration, the shaft is secured within the mounting bores and the jaw is thereby secured to the associated handle.

The arcuate fixation members may be of varying lengths, cross sectional geometries, and/or cross sectional areas, and may be configured with various features such as heads configured to accept other fixation system components, tabs to allow arcuate fixation member-in-arcuate fixation member or fixation anchor-in-arcuate fixation member configurations. Applications of fixation systems and intervertebral implants systems utilizing arcuate fixation members are particularly suitable when a linear line-of-approach for delivering fixation members is undesirable.

The surgical instrument attaches to the selected hip stem prosthesis via first and second spaced engagement portions such that the instrument is operable to exert rotational control over the selected hip stem prosthesis. The first engagement portion is an impaction portion configured to engage a corresponding impaction feature on a proximal body portion of the hip stem prosthesis. The second engagement portion is an adjustable clamping portion configured to clampingly receive the neck of the hip stem prosthesis, regardless of the prosthesis size.
