    • The invention relates to an engine control for a synchronous motor having a number of N stator coils set off in regard to each other, which are arranged around a rotor of the synchronous motor, wherein there may be impressed upon the stator coils by the engine control a coil voltage and wherein there is formed a coil current having a direct current component in a co-ordinate system rotating proportionally with the number of revolutions performed by the synchronous motor as well as a cross current component, wherein the cross current component effects a tangential force activating the rotor in the direction of rotation and wherein the direct current component effects a force acting perpendicularly to the rotor surface on the rotor, wherein the engine control has a direct current generator for generating a direct current component periodically alternating in the rotating co-ordinate system, in order to neutralise oscillations of the synchronous motor activated by the engine control by means of the force generated perpendicularly to the rotor surface, wherein the direct current generator is formed for evaluating at least one angle information and an operating cross current.

    • Disclosed herein is a sliding vane pump for providing positive displacement of a fluid such as water. The pump comprises a pump assembly having a housing with a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet formed therein, a lining member received in the housing and defining a substantially cylindrical inner surface and a rotor arranged inside the lining member to rotate about a rotational axis. The rotor defines a substantially cylindrical outer surface such that the inner surface of the lining member and the outer surface of the rotor define a working space therebetween, the working space having a radial cross-sectional area which varies about the rotational axis. The pump assembly also comprises a plurality of vanes received in substantially radial slots formed about the outer surface of the rotor. Each of the vanes is arranged to slide in the radial direction with respect to the rotor such that an outer edge of the vane contacts the inner surface of the lining member, thereby dividing the working space into working chambers. In use, rotation of the rotor draws the fluid from the fluid inlet into the working chambers and ejects the fluid from the working chambers into the fluid outlet. The vanes are formed of a carbon graphite or ceramic material and the rotor is formed of a ceramic material, which provides reduced thermal expansion compared to convention materials such as stainless steels. A base portion of each of the slots of the rotor is enlarged and has a rounded cross-sectional shape. The pump assembly further comprises a strainer assembly received into an opening in the housing and extending across the fluid inlet for filtering particulate matter from the fluid. The strainer assembly comprises a thermal sensor for sensing a temperature of fluid passing through the fluid inlet.

    • A partition for fluid tight sealing between a motor compartment and a coupling compartment of an immersible machine is described. The partition includes a partition wall having a seat, and at least one coupling terminal arranged in the seat, the coupling terminal being accessible from a primary side of the partition, and from a secondary side of the partition. A sealing member is located in at least a part of the interface between the seat of the partition wall and the coupling terminal, and a retention means is arranged to retain the coupling terminal in the seat. The coupling terminal includes a primary spring clip engageable from the primary side and a secondary spring clip engageable from the secondary side. Also disclosed is an immersible machine including such a partition.
