    • A solid state image pickup element which can exponentially reduce the in-plane photoelectric conversion portion characteristic distribution created in forming color filters by a common photolithography technique and which, when color filters are formed by split exposure, can reduce image non-uniformity between exposure regions in a picked-up image, and a method of manufacturing the same. The method includes: applying negative type color resist for forming first color filters onto an entire surface of a given film; forming the first color filters by irradiation of given portions with exposure light and subsequent development; applying negative type color resist for forming second color filters onto the entire surface of the first color filters while covering the first color filters; and forming the second color filters by irradiating an area smaller than a region that is surrounded by the first color filters with exposure light and subsequent development.

    • An image pickup device is characterized by including a plurality of pixels having a plurality of photoelectric conversion units, convex interlayer lenses with respect to incident light, the convex interlayer lenses being arranged correspondingly to a photoelectric conversion devices and color filters being arranged for each color on the interlayer lenses correspondingly to the photoelectric conversion devices, wherein the color filter is formed to match the shape of the interlayer lens and the top surface thereof is substantially flat. This configuration reduces the amount of light which is incident on the gaps between adjacent microlenses and passes through the color filters at the boundary of pixels, decreasing color mixture of camera image.

    • A constant current Iconst is applied to an electromotive force cell which is interposed between a gap (measurement chamber) of a fixed atmosphere and an oxygen reference chamber of a constant oxygen content, for measurement of a resistance value of the electromotive force cell, whereby the resistance value can be measured accurately irrespective of an oxygen content in an atmosphere to be measured by an oxygen sensor element or cell unit. Further, a temperature control method and a temperature control apparatus for an oxygen sensor, capable of detecting not only the temperature of the electromotive force cell but the temperature of the pump cell by applying a current or voltage to the electromotive force cell are provided.
