    • A method and apparatus for generating an impulsive wave in an OFDM communication system where L subcarriers are allocated to reserved tone locations among N subcarriers and data is carried on (N-L) subcarriers (L is less than N). In the method, a predetermined number of random sets each having L tone locations are created. Subcarriers are allocated to the L tone locations of each of the random sets without overlapping and IFFT-processed. A secondary peak value of the IFFT signal is stored. Tone location information having a lower secondary peak value than the stored secondary peak value is detected by fixing (L-1) tone locations and substituting subcarriers other than the subcarriers at the (L-1) tone locations one by one for the remaining one tone location.
