摘要： An apparatus and method for determining feedback information detection in a broadband wireless communication system are provided. In the detection determining apparatus, a demodulator correlates each of tiles carrying received feedback information with an orthogonal vector including a pilot symbol in each possible codeword, each tile being a predetermined number of subcarriers, and calculates the squares of the absolute values of the correlations. A codeword correlation calculator sums the squares of the absolute value of the correlations of the tiles for each possible codeword. A detection decider determines whether to perform detection on the feedback information based on the maximum of the sums.

A receiver examines at least one channel received from a transmitter, selects antenna transmission mode based on the examined at least one channel, selects an optimum frequency band based on the selected mode, and sends feedback information including selection information to the transmitter. The transmitter receives the feedback information from the receiver and allocates a frequency band to the receiver according to the received feedback information.

In the method, one of a plurality of connections is selected according to priority between the connections. An available resource condition and a MAP size for allocation of resources for the selected connection is determined if resources acceptable for a burst are present in a zone including the selected connection. The next connection is selected according to the priority if available resources are present. The determined MAP size is determined as the final estimation value of a MAP size if the available resources are not present.
