摘要： The present invention provides an adhesive aid composition having excellent adhesive strength to polyimide films without decreasing mechanical properties and being useful in the field of electric materials. An adhesive aid composition of the present invention contains a phenolic hydroxyl group-containing polyamide and a solvent as essential components. The phenolic hydroxyl group-containing polyamide preferably has a segment represented by formula (1): (wherein R1 represents a divalent aromatic group, and n represents an average number of substituents and is a positive number of 1 to 4). The adhesive aid composition of the present invention is suitably used for bonding polyimide films.

摘要： In a conventional polymer membrane electrode assembly, particularly when operated for a long period of time, a portion of the polymer electrolyte membrane to be in contact with the gas diffusion layer has suffered significant degradation. In order to address this, in a membrane electrode assembly including a hydrogen ion conductive polymer electrolyte membrane, a pair of catalyst layers arranged on both surfaces of the polymer electrolyte membrane, and a pair of gas diffusion layers, each including a fibrous substrate, arranged on the outer surfaces of the catalyst layers, a thickness TA of a center portion that faces the catalyst layer and a thickness TB of a peripheral portion surrounding the center portion are set to satisfy a expression (1): 0.7≦TB/TA≦0.9.

摘要： The present invention provides a polymer electrolyte fuel cell having an increased reaction area by forming a gas channel, a proton channel and an electron channel very close to each other inside a catalyst layer. This polymer electrolyte fuel cell includes a hydrogen ion conductive polymer electrolyte membrane; and a pair of electrodes having catalyst layers sandwiching the hydrogen ion conductive polymer electrolyte membrane between them and gas diffusion layers in contact with the catalyst layers, in which the catalyst layer of at least one of the electrodes comprises carbon particles supporting a noble metal catalyst, and the carbon particles include at least two kinds of carbon particles adsorbing a hydrogen ion conductive polymer electrolyte in mutually different dispersed states.

摘要： The present invention provides a gas diffusion layer for a fuel cell which has proper rigidity, is easy to handle and contributes to the improvement of the productivity of fuel cells. A method for producing a gas diffusion layer for a fuel cell including a first step of: impregnating a conductive porous substrate made of a conductive carbon fiber cloth or conductive carbon fiber felt with a first dispersion containing a first fluorocarbon resin having thermoplasticity; and baking the first conductive porous substrate at a first baking temperature of not less than the melting point of the first fluorocarbon resin and less than the decomposition temperature of the first fluorocarbon resin to enhance the rigidity of the conductive porous substrate.

摘要： It was difficult to specify a portion which is a cause of a power generation abnormality of a fuel cell which performs the power generation by feeding an oxygen-containing oxidizer gas into a cathode and feeding a hydrogen-containing fuel gas into an anode. A failure diagnosis method of a fuel cell system, which includes a step for computing an impedance in a prescribed portion of a fuel cell of a fuel cell system from a signal obtained by superposing an alternating current on a direct current as generated from the fuel cell system under a certain operation condition, wherein when in comparison of the impedance with an impedance as computed under a previously determined standard operation condition, an abnormality is present in the prescribed portion of the fuel cell, whether a cause of the abnormality of the prescribed portion resides in any one or plural prescribed sites constituting the fuel cell system is determined by using the comparison result.

摘要： In a polymer electrolyte fuel cell including a hydrogen ion conductive polymer electrolyte membrane; a pair of electrodes composed of catalyst layers sandwiching the hydrogen ion conductive polymer electrolyte membrane between them and gas diffusion layers in contact with the catalyst layers; a conductive separator plate having a gas flow channel for supplying a fuel gas to one of the electrodes; and a conductive separator plate having a gas flow channel for supplying an oxidant gas to the other electrode, in order to bring a hydrogen ion conductive polymer electrolyte and a catalyst metal of the catalyst layers containing the hydrogen ion conductive polymer electrolyte and conductive carbon particles carrying the catalyst metal sufficiently and uniformly into contact with each other, the polymer electrolyte is provided in pores of an agglomerate structure of the conductive carbon particles. Consequently, the reaction area inside the electrodes is increased, and higher performance is exhibited.

The method of producing the electrode in accordance with the present invention comprises the steps of spraying a solution or dispersion of a hydrogen ion conductive polymer electrolyte into a dry atmosphere in which a catalyst particle comprising an electrically conductive carbon powder carrying a platinum group metal catalyst is flowing, to coat the catalyst particle with the polymer electrolyte, and then spraying a solution or dispersion of a water repellent material to the catalyst particle to attach the water repellent material to the catalyst particle.

摘要： The present invention restores the performance of a fuel cell by: operating the cell in a loaded current mode different from that of a normal operation for a predetermined time; supplying an oxidant gas and a fuel gas to an anode and a cathode respectively and outputting a current from a cell body with the polarity being inverted; supplying a pressurized gas to at least one of the cathode and anode in an amount not less than 1.5 times as much as that in the normal operation or supplying oxygen to the cathode; or injecting a cleaning solution into the cathode and anode through a gas flow path. Consequently, it is possible to effectively restore a degraded performance of a polymer electrolyte fuel cell caused by a long operation.

摘要： The present invention provides a polymer electrolyte fuel cell stack that includes an inlet manifold that distributes supplies of the gaseous fuel, the oxidant gas, and cooling water in a sequence of lamination from a unit cell on one end of the cell laminate to a unit cell on the other end of the cell laminate and an outlet manifold that discharges exhausts of the gaseous fuel, the oxidant gas, and the cooling water in an inverted sequence of lamination from the unit cell on the other end of the cell laminate to the unit cell on the one end of the cell laminate. This configuration actualizes a small-sized, compact fuel cell stack.
