    • Provided is an ink jet ink containing a coloring material having a buffer region in an ink use range, the ink jet ink being capable of suppressing the occurrence of the deterioration (dissolution) of a heating portion surface in contact with liquid; and the disconnection of wiring for applying a voltage to a heating portion even when long term continuous printing is performed. The ink jet ink is used for an ink jet recording apparatus equipped with a recording head having a heating portion surface in contact with liquid comprising a metal and/or a metal oxide. The ink jet ink contains a coloring material in a content (mass %) of 3 mass % or more with respect to the total mass of the ink jet ink. The coloring material is a colorant having a buffer region in an ink use range, and comprises a compound represented by the following general formula (I) and/or a compound represented by the following general formula (II).     • A switch for switching over a propagation path of external signal by contacting or non-contacting a movable member to or from an electrode. The switch comprises an input port for inputting an external signal, a movable member connected to the input port, a first electrode for propagating the external signal, a first control power supply connected to the first electrode and for generating a control signal, a second electrode for blocking the external signal, and a second control power supply connected to the second electrode and for generating a control signal. The first control power supply provides a control signal to the first electrode. The movable member is displaced by a driving force generated based on a potential difference between the movable member and first electrode and a potential difference between the movable member and second electrode, thereby being contacted to the first or second electrode.

    • A paper-sheet dividing apparatus has a blade wheel which has a plurality of curved slots. Each curved slot is rotated to sequentially deliver a paper sheet to a conveyor belt. The apparatus also has a dividing member rotated together with the blade wheel and timed such that a corresponding curved slot for receiving the last paper sheet among the first predetermined number of paper sheets to be divided is axially matched with one of the first blades which is positioned between the curved slot which receives the first paper sheet among the second predetermined number of paper sheets and the curved slot which receives the last paper sheet described above. The dividing member is rotated through a predetermined angle and is separated from the blade wheel. During this movement, the paper sheet removed from the blade wheel is temporarily supported on the dividing member. Therefore, the paper sheets previously removed from the blade wheel and piled on the conveyor belt can be transferred without interrupting the operation of the blade wheel. After transfer of the previously removed paper sheets, the paper sheets on the dividing member can be transferred to the conveyor belt.
