摘要： Information is recovered from a composite signal including first and second component signals modulated according to respective first and second modulations, for example, 8-PSK and GMSK. The composite signal is processed based on predetermined characteristics of the first and second modulations, for example, signal rotations, to generate a channel model for the first component signal and a whitening filter for the second component signal. The composite signal is filtered according to the whitening filter to generate a filtered signal. A symbol hypothesis for a symbol of the first component signal is evaluated using a metric with respect to the filtered signal that is a function of the whitening filter and the channel model, for example, in a multidimensional Viterbi symbol estimation algorithm. The invention may be embodied as methods, apparatus and computer program products.

An adaptive cyclic prefix is provided for covert and spectrally efficient communication. A developed PN based random data addition provides further security by removing the chance of combining synchronization information over several OFDM symbols.

摘要： To receive a signal from a multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) communication channel, initial channel taps are generated based on an impulse response estimate of the MIMO communication channel. The received signal is pre-filtered using the initial channel taps to generate output channel taps and a corresponding output signal having an increased signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and uncorrelated noise. The SNR is based on a ratio of the energy in a first subset of the output channel taps to the energy in a second subset of the output channel taps.

Knowing the channel coefficient between each transmitter and receiver antenna pair at the transmitter, the method of the present invention calculates the artificial signal that minimizes the Euclidean distance between the desired and received data symbols if the precoding/combining matrix pair from the set that has the minimum Euclidean distance to the singular value decomposition (SVD) of the channel matrix is used for transmission and reception. The artificial signal may be fed to the precoder, instead of the actual desired data symbols, or may be transmitted directly to reduce computational complexity, power consumption and processing delay if the hardware configuration allows.

摘要： Systems and methods for securing orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) transmission of data are discussed herein. Transceivers can sense the signal strength of frequencies on an OFDM wireless channel. The transceivers can determine which of the frequencies are fading frequencies failing below a threshold. A transmitting transceiver can send artificial data on the failing frequencies and genuine data on the remaining frequencies. Artificial data can be designed to mitigate peak-average-power ratio (PAPR) to have an additional benefit without using extra resource. Finally, receiving transceiver can transceiver receive the genuine data while discarding any date received on the failing frequencies.
