摘要： A system for scheduling cleaning of an ink jet print head loaded in an ink jet printer. The system includes receiving real time/date information from an external source, storing the real time/date information in a volatile memory, storing, in a non-volatile memory, a last cleaning time for at least one print head in the ink jet printer, calculating an elapsed time by subtracting the stored real time/date information from the stored last cleaning time, comparing the calculated elapsed time to a predetermined elapsed time, and controlling the at least one print head to perform a cleaning process in the case the calculated elapsed time is greater than the predetermined elapsed time and storing, in the non-volatile memory, a latest last time for cleaning the at least one print head.

The image processing system extracts an achromatic-color component from an image signal including C, M and Y signals, and performs color correction for the C, M and Y signals by subtracting the achromatic-color component from the C, M and Y signals. The system then generates a K signal based on the achromatic-color component, and adds the achromatic-color component to the C, M and Y signals subjected to the color correction.

摘要： A recording apparatus is provided for performing recording of an image on a recording medium using a plurality of recording heads disposed at a predetermined interval in a scanning direction. The recording apparatus includes a scanning element for causing the plurality of recording heads to scan corresponding divided recording regions of an entire recording region of the recording medium. The entire recording region is divided into the recording regions in the scanning direction. The recording apparatus also includes a recording control element for causing the plurality of recording heads to perform one of recording in a first recording mode and a second recording mode when the scanning element causes the plurality of recording heads to scan the corresponding divided recording regions. In the first recording mode the recording control element causes at least two of the plurality of recording heads to perform recording of respective portions of an image on respective divided recording regions of the entire recording region. In the second recording mode the recording control element causes at least two of the plurality of recording heads to perform overlapped recording of at least a portion of an image on an overlapped recording region of the entire recording region.

In a case where the printer cannot determine the lower layer of the command, the printer determines a normal frame print function. The printer prints a normal layout image or special frame image in accordance with the determined layout of images.
