    • A relay node (29) radio access network (RAN) is configured to communicate using backhaul subframes over a Un radio interface with a donor base (27) station node and to communicate using access subframes over a Uu radio interface with a wireless terminal (30). Downlink backhaul subframes and downlink access subframes are transmitted over an air interface using the same frequency band, but a beginning of a selected downlink access subframe precedes a beginning of a next-in-time downlink backhaul subframe by a downlink timing advance (TA). The relay node (29) both receives downlink control information from the donor base station node and transmits downlink control information to the wireless terminal during the downlink backhaul subframe, e.g., during a time to which the downlink backhaul subframe has been allocated.

    • A method and Coordinated Multi-Point (CoMP) cell controller for reducing interference in a wireless communication network in which a first CoMP cell neighbors a second CoMP cell. The CoMP cell controller in the first CoMP cell gathers scheduling information from border sub-cells in the neighboring second CoMP cell in which transmissions to and from UEs cause inter-CoMP cell interference in at least one sub-cell in the first CoMP cell. The CoMP cell controller augments intra-CoMP cell scheduling information in the first CoMP cell with the scheduling information from the border sub-cells to create augmented scheduling information. The CoMP cell controller then utilizes the augmented scheduling information to schedule transmissions to and from UEs within the at least one sub-cell in the first CoMP cell to reduce the inter-CoMP cell interference.

    • A method of data transmission with a first mobile station (UE1) in a cellular communication system is described. The cellular communication system comprises a plurality of access nodes (BS1, BS2, BS3), and a plurality of mobile stations (UE11, UE2′, UE3′) in a coverage area (302) of the plurality of access nodes (BS1, BS2, BS3). The plurality of access nodes (BS1, BS2, BS3) and the plurality of mobile stations are adapted to perform data transmission in a first mode between an individual access node from the plurality of access nodes and the first mobile station (UE1), and in a second mode of cooperative data transmission between at least two of the access nodes from the plurality of access nodes and the first mobile station (UE1). The method comprises the steps of identifying the first mobile station (UE1) from the plurality of mobile stations, determining an indication of a modification of the transmission conditions between the first mode and the second mode for said first mobile station (UE1), selecting the mode of data transmission for the identified mobile station from the first and the second mode based on the indication, and performing the data transmission in the selected mode. A corresponding device and program is also described.
