    • A method of adapting resource allocation parameters to reach one or more quality targets with improved accuracy is proposed. New information measurements based on the so-called mutual information, preferably at block-level, are introduced. The MI-based information measurements of a previous transmission, the channel prediction of a subsequent transmission and one or more quality requirements, are used to determine the amount and type of resources, e.g. time, frequency and power resources, that are to be used for the subsequent transmission. The resource allocation can for example comprise power allocation and/or link adaptation and the invention enables an advantageous implementation with cooperative link-adaptation and power allocation. The proposed method is useful in connection with ARQ/HARQ retransmissions.

    • Embodiments of the present invention relates to an uplink synchronization method and apparatus, where the method includes: obtaining a timing advance of a second frequency point according to a timing advance of a first frequency point; and sending data at an uplink sending time corresponding to the timing advance of the second frequency point. According to embodiments of the present invention, the TA of the second frequency point can be obtained according to the TA of the first frequency point, and a RACH access process does not need to be performed at the second frequency point, which effectively reduces the network resources occupied by the RACH process, and shortens the produced delay, thereby improving the performance of the entire system.

    • A method for transmitting a signal and a communications apparatus are provided. The method includes: obtaining a signal transmission mode, where the signal transmission mode indicates that an uplink signal is transmitted in a multiplexing mode; and transmitting the uplink signal on an uplink band and a downlink band in the multiplexing mode according to the obtained signal transmission mode.     • A communication method in a receiving node in a wireless communication system includes receiving, at a receiving node, a first coded message block that includes a plurality of parts distributed over a plurality of components. The method further includes detecting a decoding error associated with decoding the received first coded message block and, in response to detecting the decoding error, identifying a part of the first coded message block for which retransmission will be requested and a suggested retransmission setting. The suggested retransmission setting includes one or more of a component selection setting, a link adaptation setting, a power control setting, and a scheduling setting. The method also includes feeding back to the sending node feedback information indicating that the first coded message block could not be correctly decoded. The feedback information indicates the identified part of the first coded message block and the suggested retransmission settings.
