    • An energy saving system used in an electronic device is provided. The energy saving system includes a battery for supplying the electronic device with energy; a energy detector for measuring a energy level of the battery, and transmitting a battery energy saving control signal when the measured energy level is equal to or less than a predetermined energy level; and a control unit for changing a predetermined first time period into a predetermined second time period which is shorter than the predetermined first time period according to the battery energy saving control signal, and controlling the electronic device to enter a sleep mode state when an elapsed time of not receiving any operations on the electronic device reaches the predetermined second time period.

    • The present invention provides a charging mode control circuit and method. By utilizing such charging mode control circuit and method, a secondary battery fixed in a portable device can be quickly charged when the portable device communicate with an external computer. The method includes the steps of: a) providing a commutator, the commutator comprising an adapter, a first interface, and a second interface, wherein the first interface is connected to the external computer and the second interface is connected to the portable device; b) filtering a charging voltage from the adapter and obtaining a ripple voltage from the charging power supply; c) rectifying the ripple voltage; d) comparing the rectified ripple voltage with a reference voltage, thereby producing a voltage waveform according to a comparison result; and e) selecting a fast charging mode on the secondary battery according to the voltage waveform.

    • An electronic device capable of controlling light-emitting diode (LED) bright is provided. The electronic device includes a signal producing unit for producing an operation signal; a Micro Control Unit (MCU) configured for outputting a normal brightness control signal according to the operation signal, and outputting a ultra brightness control signal according to the operation signal when an actual idle time of the electronic device reaches or exceeds a predetermined idle time; a pulse current control unit for controlling an output current according to the normal brightness control and the ultra brightness control signal; and a LED illuminator array for emitting light based on the output current. The MCU terminates the output of the ultra brightness control signal when an actual time of outputting the ultra brightness control signals reaches a predetermined time, and then the LED illuminator array resumes its normally bright. A control method is also provided.

    • A CCFL (cold-cathode fluorescent lamp) driving system for multiple CCFL loads includes a transformer, a CCFL circuit, and a controlling circuit coupled between the transformer and the CCFL circuit. The CCFL circuit includes multiple CCFL loads. The transformer includes a primary winding and a secondary winding, with the primary winding coupled to a voltage source and the secondary winding coupled to the CCFL loads. The controlling circuit includes a part for generating a predetermined voltage signal to power the CCFL loads during a warm-up stage and another part for generating a modulation signal. With such circuit arrangement, each of the multiple CCFL loads is powered from an off state to an operationally-on state.

The light sensor is configured for sensing ambient light intensity and providing results based on the sensed light intensity.
