摘要： A recycling method for a process cartridge and a process cartridge produced thereby are provided. The method includes the steps of dismounting a coupling member that couples a first unit and a second unit of the process cartridge so as to separate the first unit and the second unit; machining a connecting portion between a developing device frame of the second unit and a developer frame of the second unit so as to separate the developing device frame and the developer frame from each other without damage to dowels of the developer frame, the dowels are provided in a recessed portion for fitting into holes formed in a seal mounting plate of the process cartridge to thereby position and mount the seal mounting plate; mounting a seal that seals a developer supply opening provided in a developer accommodation portion to supply, to a developing roller of the process cartridge, developer accommodated in the developer accommodation portion; refilling a developer into the developer accommodation portion before or after the mounting step; and recoupling the first unit and the second unit using a coupling member.

摘要： A process cartridge removably mounted to a main body of an electrophotographic image forming apparatus includes an electrophotographic photosensitive member, a process member for acting on the electrophotographic photosensitive member, and a cartridge frame. The cartridge further includes a first projection guided by the main body when the process cartridge is mounted on or dismounted from the main body, the first projection protruding from one end and being coaxial with the electrophotographic photosensitive member, a guiding second projection projecting from an opposite surface and being coaxial with the photosensitive member, a third guiding projection located substantially above the first projection when the process cartridge is mounted on the main body, and a fourth guiding projection located substantially above the second projection in a state in which the process cartridge is mounted on the main body. The distance between the first projection and the third projection is different from the distance between the second projection and the fourth projection.

摘要： A developing device is usable with an electrophotographic image forming apparatus including a shaft and a rotary unit mounting the device. When mounted, the device is movable perpendicular to a shaft axial direction in response to movement of the rotary unit and the shaft is not movable in that direction. The device includes a developing roller that contacts and separates from a drum in response to movement of the rotary unit, and a coupler transmitting a rotating force to the roller. The coupler includes a portion engaging the shaft to receive a rotating force and a portion transmitting the received rotating force to the roller. The coupler takes a first position for transmitting the rotational force to the roller, a position before the coupler engages the shaft and is inclined away from the first position, and a position for the disengagement of the coupler and the shaft.
