摘要： The present invention relates to an optical multiplexer/demultiplexer. In the multiplexer/demultiplexer, a first grating receives to diffract a multi-wavelength light signal from a first port into light signals with different wavelengths. A second grating diffracts these light signals towards second ports. The second grating is disposed parallel with the first grating. The second grating has the same grating interval and grating direction as the first grating. The light signals diffracted by the second grating travel parallel with each other. Therefore, the light signals can efficiently enter the second ports without sophisticated lens design and adjustment of the optical system.

摘要： Light output from the distal end of an optical fiber collimator is input to a first diffraction grating formed on a first surface of a transparent member, and diffracted by the first diffraction grating at angles corresponding to wavelengths, and thus wavelength-branched. The light components of the respective wavelengths branched by the first diffraction grating and having propagated through the transparent member, are diffracted by a second diffraction grating formed on a second surface of the transparent member, and output from the transparent member. Each of the light components of the respective wavelengths, which are diffracted by the second diffraction grating and output from the transparent member, is input to the distal end of a corresponding one of optical fiber collimators, focused, and propagates through the optical fiber.

摘要： A wired commodity vending system which comprises a plurality of slave stations each having an automatic vending machine including an outer door and an inner door and a controller for preparing and storing commodity sales data, and a master station for managing the slave stations to which the slave stations are commonly connected through data transmission lines so that the items of commodity sales data in the respective vending machines are processed by the master station. The wired commodity vending system processes the commodity sales data by specifying the address of the slave station through the master station to provisionally transmit the commodity sales data stored in the slave station from the addressed slave station to the master station according to the address in response to the control data transmitted from the master station to the slave station, re-transmitting the control data from the master station following reception of the commodity sales data, re-transmitting the commodity sales data together with operating status data prepared by the controller to the master station in response to the control data from the addressed slave station which received the control data, and collating and confirming the commodity sales data and control and status data repetitively received at the master station. The first transmitted commodity sales data is one of the number of sold commodities, by type of commodity, and the number of commodities, by type, presently retained in the vending machine, while the second transmitted commodity sales data is both the number of sold commodities, by type, and the number of the commodities, by type, retained at present in the vending machine.

摘要： A vending machine system for hotels or the like is disclosed in which a plurality of remote vending machines communicate with a central processing unit to transmit thereto information on article sales. Each of the vending machines includes sensors for sensing the presence of articles in an article store and a memory for storing data indicating the number of articles which can be accommodated in the article store, the number of articles sold and the number of articles remaining to be sold for each kind of article. Counting means are provided for counting articles sold and articles added to the vending machines and for modifying the stored data. The sales number data for each type of article is transmitted from the vending machines to the central processing unit for processing.
