    • The present invention provides a steel wire, for springs excellent in coiling property while having a high strength, as a heat treated steel wire for high strength springs, characterized by: comprising, in mass, C: 0.75 to 0.85%, Si: 1.5 to 2.5%, Mn: 0.5 to 1.0%, Cr: 0.3 to 1.0%, P: not more than 0.015%, S: not more than 0.015%, N: 0.001 to 0.007%, W: 0.05 to 0.3%, and the balance consisting of Fe and unavoidable impurities; having a tensile strength of not less than 2,000 MPa; spheroidal carbides, composed of mainly cementite, observed in a microscopic visual field satisfying the area percentage of the spheroidal carbides not less than 0.2 μm in circle equivalent diameter being not more than 7%, the density of the spheroidal carbides 0.2 to 3 μm in circle equivalent diameter being not more than 1 piece/μm2, and the density of the spheroidal carbides over 3 μm in circle equivalent diameter being not more than 0.001 piece/μm2; the prior austenite grain size number being #10 or larger; the content of the retained austenite being not more than 12 mass %; the maximum diameter of carbides being not more than 15 μm; and the maximum diameter of oxides being not more than 15 μm.

    • A motor driving circuit generates pulse driving signals, and controls the ON/OFF state of a switching circuit connected to a coil of a motor which is to be driven, thereby controlling the conduction period of the motor. A driving signal generating circuit generates the driving signals such that they are pulse modulated according to the torque target value for the motor, and outputs the driving signals to the switching circuit. A current detection circuit detects the current flowing through the coil of the motor. A current limiting circuit controls the logical values of the driving signals generated by the driving signal generating circuit such that the current detected by the current detection circuit does not exceed a predetermined current upper limit. The current limiting circuit increases the current upper limit according to the time elapsed in the starting operation of the motor. After the starting operation of the motor, the current upper limit is set to a predetermined fixed value.

    • A POS terminal apparatus is adapted to be connected to an external device. An application is running in the POS terminal apparatus. A device manager determines whether the external device is capable of counting a first value indicating a usage amount of the external device, and if so, the device manager acquires the first value from the external device in response to a first command from the application. A counter retains a second value indicating the usage amount of the external device and notifies the second value to the application in response to a second command from the application. If it is determined that the external device is not capable of counting the first value, the counter virtually counts the second value in accordance with a third command sent from the application to the external device. An updater updates the second value with a third value which is obtained by a fourth command from the application with reference to the first value acquired by the device manager. The first value is retained when the second value is updated with the third value.

    • A thermal printhead (A) includes an insulating substrate (10) having an upper surface (10a) and a side surface (10b), and a heat retaining glaze layer (11) formed on the substrate (10). A heating resistor (13) is formed on the glaze layer (11). The thermal printhead (A) further includes a common electrode (12) and a plurality of individual electrodes. The common electrode (12) has a plurality of teeth (12a) connected to the heating resistor (13), and a connecting portion (12b) which connects the teeth (12a) with each other. An electrode auxiliary layer (14) is formed on the connecting portion (12b). The heating resistor (13) and the electrode auxiliary layer (14) are covered with an overcoat layer (16) which is, in turn, covered with a protective layer (17). The connecting portion (12b) of the common electrode (12) directly contacts both the glaze layer (11) and the upper surface (10a) of the substrate.
