摘要： A Method and Apparatus for Detecting the Presence and Locations of Radio Controlled Improvised Explosive Devices in Real Time. The system will clandestinely detect the presence and location of RCIED's along roadways in real time. This “RCIED Street Sweeper” system consequently allows its users to remove the explosive devices, pre-detonate them, or simply avoid the location so that the weapons cannot be used against a convoy or other important target. The system has the abilities (disclosed in U.S. patent application Ser. No. 10/829,858) to conduct fast wideband scanning of the RF spectrum looking for ambient RF signals as well as RCIED leakage signals. Furthermore the system has the ability to correlate the received leakage signals with the ambient RF signal environment, in order to verify authenticity. Still further, the system has the ability to continually mark and record the precise map location where each of those RF spectrum measurements emanated, including the relative distances between them. Still further, the preferred system will calculate adjusted curve profiles given the real time distance data. Fifth, the preferred system needs to have the ability to correlate sets of trend data with the adjusted curve profiles to determine matches. Further yet, the system alerts the vehicle driver to the presence and location of any RCIED that is detected by the system. Finally, the system is capable of being installed in a low profile, clandestine manner on a mobile platform such as a car or truck, so as not to alert insurgents of its existence.

The system includes a first sensor for sensing at least one operational state of the vehicle, a second sensor for sensing a wheel-lock up condition of the vehicle, and a logic control unit. The logic control unit is configured to receive signals from the first and second sensors. When the first sensor communicates a first predetermined operational state of the vehicle and the second sensor communicates a wheel-lockup condition, the logic unit directs disengagement of the drive train from the wheels. Alternatively, when a second predetermined operational state of the vehicle and wheel lock-up condition is communicated, the logic control unit directs engagement of the drive train and the wheels.

摘要： A Method and Apparatus to Perform Surgical Reactive Jamming while Maintaining Simultaneous Tactical Communications is disclosed. The system provides an enhancement to surgical reactive jammers that combines near-real-time jamming capability with the additional feature of allowing tactical communications. The tactical communications transmissions are compressed and packetized such that they can be broken up and transmitted during the jamming system's look-through periods. This approach facilitates listening during these look-through periods (not only for EW emitters, but also for friendly communications signals). The system should allows for talk during these look-through periods (“talk-through” periods). Such a system is unique in that it can automatically calculate the best frequency for a surgical reactive jammer to use against enemy targets as well as providing a fully secure tactical communications link which is synchronized with other units in the field. This invention is therefore vital to the interests of United States national security as it provides a valuable Electronic Warfare capability.

摘要： A Method and Apparatus for Enhancing the Speed of Wideband Signal Search Systems provides a system that can perform hyper fast scanning for signals while at the same time provide very good phase noise performance. The method and apparatus provide a way to reduce costs by avoiding the expensive solutions employed by the unmodified prior systems. The method and apparatus have all of the abilities of standard wideband signal collection systems. Secondly the method and apparatus are able to automatically, and extremely quickly, control multiple VCO's in a finely coordinated tuning process. Thirdly, the method and apparatus still have very good phase noise performance, even though it has hyper fast tuning speeds. Fourthly, the preferred method and apparatus pipeline the digitization and tuning phases of the collection process. Finally, the method and apparatus provide real-time control logic to accurately synchronize all events and make them work in the specific procedure at their respective specific microseconds in time.

摘要： In a night vision arrangement for a motor vehicle in which a camera captures an infra-red image of the roadway in front of the vehicle, a video signal generated by the camera is processed by a signal processor so that the field of view of the image displayed by a display unit is selected in accordance with a control signal. The control signal is generated by a signal generator which is responsive to one or more parameters of the movement of the vehicle. The width of the field of view may be decreased with increasing speed. The axial direction of the field of view may be adjusted depending upon the nature of a turning movement of the vehicle.
