    • A fixation plate includes a set of threaded peg holes adapted to individually receive fixation pegs therethrough and non-threaded alignment holes having a relatively smaller diameter than the peg holes and preferably sized to closely receive a K-wire. The alignment holes are located between the peg holes. One alignment hole is configured for aligning the plate during an osteotomy procedure, while other alignment holes are configured for use after fracture reduction and receive K-wires to temporarily stabilize the fracture and secure the plate to the bone and determine whether pegs inserted through adjacent respective peg holes will be properly located before drilling relatively larger holes for such pegs. The head of the plate has a shape and contour which provides bone support and a low profile which minimizes the potential for soft tissue irritation.

    • A dorsal fracture is treated from the volar side by using a T-shaped plate opposite the fracture. The plate is positioned against the volar side of the radial bone, a plurality of bone screws secure the plate along a non-fractured portion of the radial bone, and a plurality of bone pegs extend from the plate and into the bone fragments of the fracture. A support portion of the plate is provided distal of the bone pegs and supports comminuted bone fragments. One or more channels are optionally provided in the plate to receive wires which are adapted to anchor distal bone fragments to the plate. The plate is adapted in strength and materials to withstand the large bending forces thereon.

    • A hook plate for use in conjunction with a fracture fixation plate, said fracture fixation plate including a bone contacting surface and an opposite surface, said hook plate comprising a substantially rigid plate having a first portion and a second portion; the first portion adapted for slidable engagement with, said opposite surface of said fracture fixation plate; the second portion configured to wrap around an edge of said fracture fixation plate to engage with a bone fragment and reduce a fracture; the first portion being substantially flat and defining a first portion plane; the second portion having at least two projections which curve downward to a position below the first portion plane and terminate in hook ends adapted to engage with said bone fragment; the first portion including a slot that transects said hook plate from a surface of said hook plate that faces the fracture fixation plate to an opposing surface of said hook plate for engagement with a fastener on said opposite surface of said fracture fixation plate; said slot being elongated; and the first portion including an elongate member extending distally away from the first portion and upward to a position above the first portion, said elongate member adapted to aid in the tensioning of the hook plate prior to tightening of the fastener.
