    • The invention relates to a technique for mobile assisted handover in mobile communications networks, e.g. Long Term Evolution (LTE) networks, in a situation of an ongoing data reception or data transmission of a mobile terminal which hinders reception of system information from a candidate cell for handover. A method embodiment of such technique is performed in a mobile terminal and comprises the steps of accepting information related to an ongoing data reception/transmission from at least one data reception/transmission component of the mobile terminal; establishing if the ongoing data reception/transmission enables a reception of a unique cell identifier indicating a candidate cell for handover; selectively halting the ongoing data reception/transmission, receiving the unique cell identifier of the candidate cell, and resuming afterwards the data reception/transmission.

    • In a cellular wireless communications network, measurements are received from a plurality of user equipments relating to the reference signal received powers from a plurality of other cells of the cellular wireless communications network For other cells of the cellular wireless communications network having a physical cell identity (such as a scrambling code) that is the same as a physical cell identity of that first cell, it is determined from the received measurements whether a mutual potential interference level with that cell exceeds a threshold If so, an alternative physical cell identity is proposed, that would cause a mutual potential interference level between the cell or the potentially interfering cell and another cell already using that alternative physical cell identity that is lower than the mutual potential interference level between the cell and the potentially interfering cell.

    • Neighbor cell relation lists are initialized and managed in various ways that are especially beneficial to closed subscriber group (CSG) cells served by CSG base stations. Typically, only a radio terminal belonging to the CSG is permitted to access and receive service from the CSG cell. As a result, information is provided to radio terminals in the cells neighboring the CSG cell that generally indicates that radio terminals are not to report to a respective serving base station signal quality measurements of a signal received from the CSG base station unless the radio terminal is a member of the closed subscriber group for the CSG cell. When a CSG cell is powered-up, it is determined whether the CSG cell has previously been powered-on in the same environment. If so, the neighbor cell relation information for the CSG cell is updated with other network node(s). If not, neighbor cell relations of the CSG cell are initialized. In one example, when a new neighbor cell relation has been added to its neighbor cell relation list, the CSG base station inherits neighbor cell relation list entries from the newly-added neighbor cell.

    • The invention relates to method and arrangement for automated optimization of network element settings in a wireless network. For a first optimization state, a first forward triggering condition and a first range of network element settings, allowable in first network element settings optimization are determined. For a further automated optimization state, determining a further forward triggering condition, and a further range of network element settings, allowable in a further network element setting optimization. An initial set of network element settings is assigned to an initial automated optimization state. The first forward triggering condition is evaluated and a migration to the first automated optimization state is performed upon fulfillment of the first forward triggering condition. A further forward triggering condition is evaluated and a migration to a further automated optimization state is performed upon the further forward triggering condition. The migrating is repeated until reaching a final automated optimization state.

    • Methods, user equipment (120) and target base station (130) for supporting update of neighbour cell relations in a cellular communications network (100). The user equipment (120) switches from being served in the source cell (115) by the source base station (110) to instead being served in the target cell (135) by the target base station. The user equipment sends (304, 403), to the target base station (130), in association with the switching, an identifier of the source cell (115) in the cellular communications network (100) and a request for mobility report. The request for mobility report requests the target base station (130) to send a mobility report to the source base station (110) or a management entity (140) thereof. The mobility report reporting that a successful switch has taken place between the source cell (115) and the target cell (135), thereby enabling updating of the neighbour cell relations based on the mobility report. Hence, reporting back of successful cell switching is enabled even when the target base station is unprepared by the source base station about the switching. Neighbour cell relations of at least the source base station may be updated based on the mobility report.
