    • A video image capture device of the present invention includes: an optical system having distortion characteristics which enlarge the center portion and compress the peripheral portions; an image sensor which performs photoelectric conversion of a subject image focused by the optical system to output as original image data; a distortion correction circuit which corrects distortion in the original image data; an instruction portion which sets the size of an extraction angle of view for the original image data before correction of distortion; and a recording device which, taking the angle of view of the original image data to be a first angle of view, stores in succession image data corresponding to the first angle of view of the original image data and, as pairs, image data corresponding to a second angle of view narrower than the first angle of view set by the instruction portion.

    • An electronic flash photographing system transmits a timing clock signal from a camera to a flash unit through a first signal transmission path, and also transmits a plurality of information signals as a serial signal from the flash unit to the camera through a second signal transmission path in synchronism with the timing clock signal. At least when a subject is photographed, generation of the timing clock signal is stopped or transmission thereof to the first signal transmission path is interrupted. While the subject is being photographed, a light-emission stop signal is transmitted from the camera to the flash unit through the first signal transmission path.

    • An imaging apparatus includes an imaging element, an image signal transmitter, an image signal receiver, a signal processor and a control unit. The imaging element includes pixels arranged in two-dimensional array. The pixels output an imaging signal in synchronization with a first synchronizing signal. The image signal transmitter superimposes a second synchronizing signal on the imaging signal and transmits an image signal. The second synchronizing signal indicates a start position in vertical and horizontal directions in the two-dimensional array and is different from the first synchronizing signal. The image signal receiver receives the image signal from the image signal transmitter, and separates the received image signal into the imaging signal and second synchronizing signal. The signal processor processes the separated imaging signal based on the separated second synchronizing signal. The control unit receives the first synchronizing signal, and controls peripheral circuits in synchronization with the first synchronizing signal.

    • A data processing apparatus in which pipeline processing is performed comprises a control unit that controls a data processing sequence, a first processing unit that begins first data processing by inputting data on the basis of a start signal, outputs data subjected to the first data processing, and outputs a completion signal to the control unit after completing the first data processing, and a second processing unit that begins second data processing by inputting the data subjected to the first data processing on the basis of a start signal, outputs data subjected to the second data processing, and outputs a completion signal to the control unit after completing the second data processing.
