    • The present invention is directed to a connector holder for holding a connector during wiring of the connector which facilitates accurate positioning of protection material about wires of a cable. The connector holder includes a support member such as a pillar for mounting the invention to the wiring board. The connector holder includes a holder portion which houses a connector in an insertable and removable manner in such a condition that the wires can be connected thereto, and a positioning member is integrally provided with the holder portion and assists in the positioning of protection material about cable wires connected to the connector. The positioning member may also include an adjustable pin capable of positioning protection material arranged around the periphery of a cable in such a condition that the plurality of wires of the cable connected with a connector is arranged on both sides of the positioning member. Additionally, the holder portion may adjustably hold a connector between a connector-regulating member and a resilient member, which resiliently presses the connector against the connector-regulating member. The present invention may further provide for the adjustment of the thickness of the connector regulating member.

    • A recording/reproducing apparatus for recording and/or reproducing the information on or from an optical recording medium by illuminating laser light on it using a double-lens type objective lens unit made up of at least a first lens and a second lens. The apparatus includes a light source for radiating laser light, a first lens for converging the laser light radiated from the light source, a second lens arranged between the first lens and the optical recording medium, a detection unit for detecting the sort of the recording medium and a piezoelectric element for causing relative movement between the first and second lenses for varying the distance between the two lenses in the direction along the optical axis. Specifically, the second lens is moved by a movement unit responsive to the results of detection by the detection unit to vary the separation between the first and second lenses. This increases the numerical aperture NA and reduces the effect of aberration to enable high-density recording and/or reproduction of information signals.

    • In an outboard motor, a simple drain structure is provided which can drain the water that has entered the engine compartment while effectively preventing water from entering the engine compartment through the drain structure itself. A drain passage is formed in a peripheral portion of an engine mount member which, together with a part of an engine cover, constitutes a bottom of the engine compartment. A reed valve unit made of a resilient material and having a base portion and a valve portion is fittingly received by the side wall defining the drain passage of the mount member so that the valve portion normally closes the opening of the drain passage due to its own resiliency and bend to drain water when water accumulates in the drain passage.
