    • (1) Electrophotographic liquid developer comprising electrically insulating medium liquid and toner dispersed in the medium liquid, wherein the toner has a melt viscosity (.eta.) in a range from 2.times.10.sup.2 poises to 1.times.10.sup.5 poises at 100.degree. C. in a dry state, and has a glass transition temperature of 20.degree. C. or more.(2) Electrophotographic liquid developer comprising electrically insulating medium liquid and toner dispersed in the medium liquid, wherein the toner contains binder resin exhibiting at least one peak in each of ranges of a molecular weight lower than 5000 and of a molecular weight of 5000 or more when detected by a gel permeation chromatography (GPC).(3) An image forming apparatus comprising an electrostatic latent image carrier for forming an electrostatic latent image; a liquid developing device developing the electrostatic latent image formed on the electrostatic latent image carrier into a visible toner image with liquid developer; an intermediate transfer member carrying the toner image transferred thereto from the electrostatic latent image carrier for further transferring the transferred toner image to a record member; and a heating device for heating the intermediate transfer member, wherein the liquid developing device develops the electrostatic latent image with the liquid developer of the above (1) or (2).

    • The digital printing apparatus of this invention including ink retaining member of which the surface has a multiplicity of minute ink-wettable dot surfaces being formed as arranged with a fixed pitch in the direction of width of the recording paper. These dot surfaces are enclosed with ink-repellent surfaces. When ink is applied to the entire surface of the ink retaining member, the ink is raised only on the dot surfaces. The digital printing apparatus of this invention is provided with a multiplicity of control electrodes arranged in at least one line as spaced with a fixed pitch equalling the pitch with which the dot surfaces are spaced in the aforementioned direction. When an electrostatic force is applied between selected ones of the control electrodes and the corresponding dot surfaces, the prominences of ink held on the dot surfaces are caused to fly toward the control electrodes and land on the recording paper held between the control electrodes and the ink retaining member.

    • A method for sensing the color of incident light with a color sensing device, the color sensing device being a photoelectric device comprising an n-type or p-type amorphous silicon layer, being characterized in the following steps; measuring a first photocurrent of the photoelectric device generated by incident light when an electrical voltage having a predetermined parity is applied thereto; measuring a second photocurrent of the photoelectric device generated by the same incident light when another electrical voltage having a parity opposite to the predetermined parity is applied thereto, calculating the ratio of the first photocurrent to the second photocurrent; and identifying the color of incident light according to the ratio obtained.A color sensing device, comprising: two elements including an n-type or p-type amorphous silicon layer; an electric power source for applying a positive voltage and a negative voltage to the two elements at the same time, respectively; and a divider means for calculating a ratio of the two photocurrents which flows in each elements.
