    • A method is disclosed for generating computed tomography displays, in which with the aid of at least one X-ray source, an examination object is scanned in a rotationally circulating fashion with a measured dose rate dependent on the circulation angle, projection data are collected from a multiplicity of viewing angles, and at least similarly redundant projection data from angularly identical or angularly complementary projection angles with a different measured dose are interpolated with distance weighted relative to a projection value and are used for reconstruction. According to at least one embodiment of the invention, during the distance weighted interpolation of the at least similarly redundant projection data an additional noise optimizing weighting is carried out as a function of the noise present per projection value. Furthermore, an X-ray computed tomography system is disclosed for generating tomographic displays of an examination object with the aid of an arithmetic logic unit, including computer program code for evaluating detector data and carrying out a reconstruction, the arithmetic logic unit including program code that during operation executes at least one embodiment of the method.

    • A method for scattered radiation correction of a CT system, including at least two focus/detector systems operated angularly offset from one another, is disclosed. In the method, at at least one phantom, similar to the examined object at least in a subregion, for at least one of the focus/detector systems, the scattered radiation intensity occurring is determined in the detector of a focus/detector system during the operation of the at least one focus of at least one other focus/detector system. Further, the spatial distribution thereof is stored for a number of angles of rotation of the focus/detector systems. During scanning of the object, the scattered radiation intensities, determined with the aid of a similar phantom that originate from the at least one other focus/detector system, are subtracted from the measured intensities of the first focus/detector system while taking account of the spatial orientation of the focus/detector systems and the beam respectively considered. Finally, absorption values are calculated with the aid of the intensity values thus corrected, and CT pictures or CT volume data are thereby reconstructed.

In at least one embodiment, volume recordings or section images of first and second sub-volumes of a heart volume, which lie adjacent to one another in the forward increment direction and partially overlap in an overlap region, are recorded by a computer tomography system. The computed tomography unit includes at least two recording systems that can rotate about a common rotation axis. Each of the systems includes an X-ray source and a detector having detector elements for detecting X-radiation emanating from the X-ray source. To reduce artifacts when use is made of measured values of the two recording systems in the reconstruction of an image, a scaling factor is determined for the measured values of the first or of the second recording system on the basis of measured values that originate from projections recorded from an object with the aid of the two recording systems. Each of the two recording systems is used to record at least one projection at at least substantially the same projection angle, whose measured values are compared with one another.

    • A method and a device are disclosed for generating a CT image with a high time resolution using a computed tomography scanner which has at least two recording systems which are operated at different X-ray energy spectra. In at least one embodiment of the process, CT images are firstly reconstructed in each case from a semi-rotation with the two recording systems, with irradiated lengths of the contrast agent-enriched structures and the soft tissue being calculated therefrom. Subsequently, a common X-ray energy is assumed and artificial measurement data records are calculated therefor, using the knowledge of the irradiated lengths for both recording systems at the same common X-ray energy. The artificial measurement data of respectively a quarter-rotation per recording system is then used to calculate the final CT image with a high time resolution. The method affords the use of dual-energy scans without losing the high time resolution available in dual-source systems.

    • A filter method for tomographic 3D displays is disclosed, in which a volume model is used for display, which reproduces the volume of the examination object in the form of a large number of three-dimensional image voxels, and the image value of each voxel reproduces one object-specific characteristic of the examination object in this volume. According to the method, the original image voxels are processed using a 2D filter which is the same over the entire image area, and two different linear filters with selected directions which are obtained from the extremes of the previously calculated variances thus resulting in three data records with differently filtered image voxels, and in which, furthermore, the original image voxels and the filtered image voxels are mixed using local weights to form a result image. In addition, original image data can be processed using a steepening linear filter with a filter direction in the direction of the maximum local variance, resulting in a data record which is mixed into the final image with locally different weighting.
