摘要： A surgical stapling apparatus includes a staple cartridge and an anvil member. The staple cartridge includes a plurality of surgical fasteners disposed in rows of retention slots. The staple cartridge may have an annular or linear configuration of retention slots. The tissue contacting surface of the staple cartridge may be tapered or stepped. The anvil member has a tissue contacting surface that includes a number of pockets arranged for substantially aligning with the retention slots. In addition, the tissue contacting surface of the anvil member may complement the tissue contacting surface of the staple cartridge.

The needle tip (152) is advanced until the tissue receiving basket (154) reaches the tissue sample target zone (190). Vacuum pressure is supplied to the basket (154) via a vacuum tube (144) so that tissue to be sampled is drawn into the basket (154). The cutter (42) is rotated and advanced linearly to cut a tissue sample (212) which is then retrieved by retracting the needle (40).

摘要： A blade fuse includes parallel blades (12 and 14) secured in a body (16). A fusible link (42) welded to the blades is located in a cavity (20) of the body that is covered by a window (61). The blade fuses are assembled by blanking the fusible element from a ribbon (90) and translating it into a fuse subassembly (64). Tabs (50 and 52) secure the fusible element in the subassembly (64) until it is spot welded to blades 12 and 14. The window (61) is then blanked and translated to cover cavity (20) and secured by ultrasonic welding. A connector strip (76) is then blanked from between blades (12 and 14) to provide the blade fuse.

摘要： A coupling device fitted onto an end of a hose into which a barbed nipple is inserted. The device is a rigid ferrule providing along its inner side two cylindrical portions of different diameters that are joined by a frusto-conical portion. The ferrule has a spiral thread of constant pitch formed on and along the inner side of all the portions. The thread in the larger cylindrical portion presses a shallow mating thread into the outside surface of the hose and initially advances the ferrule along the hose. The thread in the frusto-conical portion presses a progressively deepening thread into the hose and increasingly radially contracts the hose into the voids between the nipple barbs. The thread in the smaller cylindrical portion holds the hose contracted into the voids.

The external assembly has a first magnetic component. The internal assembly has a second magnetic component. The internal assembly is sized to be placed inside of the body cavity. The electrical current is connected with one of the first and the second magnetic component to produce a magnetic field about the connected magnetic component to approximate the internal and external assemblies. The module determines a parameter and is in communication with a controller. The controller controls the electrical current in response to the parameter.
