    • A hybrid connector used for connecting different package modules includes an insulative housing, a plurality of first type of contacts, and a plurality of second type of contacts. The insulative housing has a first area with a plurality of first openings and a second area with a plurality of second openings. The first contacts and the second contacts are received in the first and the second openings respectively. The first and the second contacts both have a base received in the opening, a spring portion upward extending from the base. A lower portion downwardly extends from the first contact base, and a soldering pad downwardly extends from the second contact base. The first contacts connect with one package module and the second contacts connect with another package module.

The beam (35) extends downwardly a pair of elastic hooks (31). The elastic hooks (31) engage with the securing recesses (211) of the base portion respectively.

    • An electrical connector assembly (1) includes an LGA connector (2) having a metal clip (25) and a pick up cap (3). The pick up cap has a planar body (30) forming a plane top surface (300). Several holes (302, 303, 309) are defined in the planar body. When the pick up cap is engagingly mounted onto a top portion of the connector, the holes are in communication with a window (258) of the clip. A vacuum suction device can engage the top surface of the pick up cap to move the connector assembly to a desired location on a PCB. When curing adhesive film at high temperature, heated air can flow through the holes to a bottom portion of the connector. Reliable electrical connection between the contacts of the connector and the metal contact pads of the PCB is subsequently produced in a wave solder machine or drag soldering equipment.

    • Disclosed is an electrical connector (20) for connecting an IC package (30) having a mating surface (302) and a number of pins (300) and guiding walls (316) extending past the mating surface. The electrical connector includes a base (200) defining a number of passages (2040). A number of terminals (230) are set in the corresponding passages, respectively. A cover (210) defining a number of through-holes (214) in accordance with the passages and guiding slots (216) in compliance with the guiding walls is movably mounted on the base. A cam (220) is provided to drive the cover to move relative to the base. When the guiding walls of the IC package are inserted into the guiding slots, the pins of the IC package remain a distance away from the through-holes of the cover.
