摘要： A recording medium driving device is disclosed. A recording medium driving device equipped with a tray on which an information recording medium is mounted has a rack fitted to the tray, a gear train having gears engaging with the rack; a motor for driving the gear train; a slide member provided with the gear train and the motor; a switch capable of changing over a circuit by the slide member partially impinging thereon; a supporting plate for slidably supporting the slide member; and a means for biasing the slide member in the direction in which to lead out the tray. With this constitution, it is feasible to reduce an optical disk driving device in thickness and to prevent it from suffering damages caused by malfunctions.

摘要： A process for producing a pitch useful as a raw material for carbon fibers, which comprises(1) heat-treating at least one starting material selected from the group consisting of a heavy oil obtained by fluid catalytic cracking of a petroleum, a distillate or a residual oil obtained by distilling the heavy oil, and a pitch obtained by heat-treating any of the foregoing materials at a temperature of 350.degree. to 550.degree. C.,(2) separating and removing insoluble substances from the reaction mixture obtained in step (1) to obtain a first treated mixture,(3) heating the first treated mixture obtained in step (2) at a temperature of 250.degree. to 400.degree. C. and removing light fractions which distill at said temperature to obtain a second treated mixture, and(4) treating the second treated mixture obtained in step (3) at a temperature of 430.degree. to 550.degree. C.

摘要： In a vehicle brake system including a pneumatic force multiplier apparatus in which a power piston moves by virtue of a pressure difference between atmospheric and negative pressure, a manual brake switch is provided to apply braking force without need for depressing the brake pedal. A controller includes a deceleration calculating circuit reading vehicle speed for every specified number of seconds and calculating the amount of deceleration. The deceleration is compared with a predetermined value and braking force is increased, maintained, or decreased depending on whether the vehicle is running on a downwardly sloping, level, or unwardly sloping road.

摘要： An internal combustion engine includes a crankshaft and a balancer shaft. The shafts are rotationally linked to one another, and the crankshaft is linked to a piston. The shafts carry weights to minimize the vibrations caused by the reciprocating motion of the piston. A reinforcing member has two enclosing portions, one for a bearing of each of the shafts, and integrally joins both of said enclosing portions. The reinforcing member is cast into the crankcase wall. Its material is stronger than the material of which the crankcase wall is made. Cracking and wearing of the crankcase wall, especially in the region between the two shafts, is reduced or eliminated, and the wall can be made thinner, and more reliably without cavities.
