    • An image processing device includes an in-plane pattern detector that selects a pixel of interest in a frame image of interest, calculates in-plane correlation index values representing correlations between the pixel of interest and in-plane pixel patterns including the pixel of interest, and selects a most highly correlated pattern as an in-plane addition pattern. A reference pattern detector calculates inter-plane correlation index values representing correlations between the in-plane pixel addition pattern and reference pixel patterns in a reference frame image temporally adjoining the frame of interest, and selects a most highly correlated reference pixel pattern. A pixel adder adds the values of the pixels in the selected in-plane pixel pattern and the selected reference pixel addition pattern to generate a corrected pixel value, thereby achieving high sensitivity and a high signal-to-noise ratio under low illumination, with little loss of resolution.

    • The present invention provides an immunoassay technique which enables efficient detection of antigen-antibody reaction with high sensitivity by a magnetic method using magnetic particles and a SQUID magnetic sensor or sensors. A system based on the technique includes a disk-shaped sample holder which holds on a circle a plurality of sample containers for accommodating marked samples, resulting from marking of samples with magnetic particles by antigen-antibody reaction; rotating means for rotating the holder around its central shaft; magnetizing means for magnetizing the marked samples outside a magnetic shield; and a magnetic sensor for detecting, within the magnetic shield, magnetic fields generated from the marked samples which have been magnetized. By rotation of the holder, areas fixing and holding different ones of the sample containers are successively inserted into the magnetic shield, and the magnetization of the marked samples accommodated in first ones of the sample containers and the detection of magnetic fields generated from the marked samples accommodated in second ones of the sample containers are executed in parallel.

    • A method for producing a resin substrate coated with a titanic acid film, characterized in that it comprises providing a suspension of a scaly titanic acid by treating a layered titanate with an acid or warm water and allowing a basic compound having a force swelling the interstice of the layer to act thereon, to swell or separate the layer, applying the suspension on a resin substrate, and subjecting the resultant substrate to a heat treatment at a temperature less than the softening temperature of said resin substrate, preferably at a temperature less than 100° C., to thereby form a titanic acid film on the resin substrate. The above method can be suitably used for forming an inorganic coating film excellent in transparency, surface hardness, gas-barrier property and the like on any type of resin substrate with good adhesion property.

    • When a navigation system is started for the first time, a time/position information item unique to each navigation system is generated based on a position and time detected for the first time by a GPS receiver of a position detector. This generated time/position information item is stored both in a hard disk of a map data storage device and in an internal memory. When a starting process performed at starting of the system, it is determined whether time/position information items stored in the hard disk and the internal memory accord with each other. When both information items are determined to be according with each other, map data stored in the hard disk is given a license for use.
