摘要： A method of a mobile station for transmitting a ranging signal in a wireless communication system which supports Fractional Frequency Reuse (FFR) and an apparatus for performing the method are provided. The method includes receiving information of ranging resource allocation, from a base station, based on the information of the ranging resource allocation, determining a cell identifier and a Frequency Partition (FP) location for uplink control channels, determining a subband index for the ranging resource allocation based on the cell identifier and a number of subbands allocated to the FP location for the uplink control channels, and transmitting a ranging signal based on the subband index for the ranging resource allocation. Thus, interference to a neighboring cell may be reduced in the ranging channel transmission.

A Mobile Station (MS) operation includes determining a system bandwidth through a primary preamble for frame synchronization, which a Base Station (BS) transmits. A Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) size, the number of guard subcarriers, and the number of used subcarriers corresponding to the system bandwidth are determined using a first table. An operation parameter of a modem is set according to the FFT size, the number of guard subcarriers, and the number of used subcarriers.

摘要： A Synchronization Channel (SCH) transmission method includes generating a Primary SCH (P-SCH) sequence according to supplementary information. The supplementary information includes at least one of Base Station (BS) type information, Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) size information, BandWidth (BW) information, group information, sector information, and carrier type information. The method also includes modulating the P-SCH sequence and mapping the modulated P-SCH sequence to subcarriers within a predefined subcarrier set. The subcarriers are included in the subcarrier set being spaced one subcarrier interval apart. The method further includes generating a P-SCH symbol by Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM)-modulating the P-SCH sequence mapped to the subcarriers, and transmitting the P-SCH symbol.
