    • A helical corrugated coaxial cable possesses low cost of manufacture comparable to that of braided shield coaxial cable, electrical performance comparable to solid tubular shielded cable, flexibility of helical and annular corrugated cable, and fluid blockage comparable to annular shielded cable. The cable has an inner conductor surrounded by a foam dielectric insulator. A tubular shield surrounds the dielectric and has helical corrugations penetrating into and compressing the foam dielectric to effectively suppress the formation of fluid migration air gaps or passageways between the shield and the dielectric. The shield is preferably composed of aluminum or aluminum alloy. Alternatively, the shield may be annularly corrugated for improved water blocking performance. The manufacturing process employs high speed welding and multi-lead corrugating operations to reduce cost.

    • Signal handling equipment, such as a high power amplifier, is implemented with feed-forward compensation circuitry that adjusts the effective operation of the equipment (e.g., linearizes the amplifier). The compensation circuitry includes (i) a nulling loop, which generates an error signal based on the output from the amplifier, and (ii) an error loop, which generates, based on the error signal, a feed-forward compensation signal that is added to the output of the amplifier. The compensation circuitry is tuned by tuning the nulling loop and then iteratively tuning the error loop based on data generated by perturbing the tuning of the nulling loop. In one implementation, data corresponding to the amplitude of the output signal is analyzed to generate metric values that are used to iteratively adjust the tuning of the error loop.

    • A locking mechanism for a coaxial connector assembly of the type wherein an inner cylindrical connector member of a female connector is adapted for receipt within an outer connector member of a male connector. The locking mechanism is positionable between the male and female connectors and includes one or more locking balls disposed within a sleeve portion of the male connector. The sleeve is of the push-pull variety and incorporates an internal surface for biasing the locking ball or balls into a recess formed in the female connector. When the sleeve is in a locked position, the locking ball or balls captured therein are biased radially inwardly therefrom to urge the male and female connectors into a tighter engagement.
