摘要： A secure wireless transceiver, such as a link 16 transceiver, receives signals using an antenna array having an SOC associated with each antenna element in the array. The SOC's digitize and channelize received data for transmission to a message nulling system that mitigates jamming. The antenna array can be conformal, and can replace an existing Link 16 blade. The disclosed transceiver can be a modified CMN-4 transceiver with digitizing and channelizing moved to the SoC's, and replaced by the nulling system. The transceiver uses applicable TRANSEC information to assign received data to the logical Link 16 channels before nulling, and embodiments apply nulling only to channels of interest, thereby improving the nulling and reducing side lobes. Embodiments distinguish between desired and unwanted signals based on known Link 16 signal features and/or situational awareness, rather than signal amplitudes, thereby enabling nulling of even weak jamming signals.

摘要： An apparatus for strength training of an athlete in preparation for playing a sport that requires swinging of a bat or other implement comprises an attachment mechanism that is removably attachable to the proximal “grip” end of the implement, and a weight attachable to the attachment mechanism. A principle axis of inertia of the weight is aligned with a longitudinal axis of the implement, such that added weight does not significantly impact the athlete's use of the bat during practice drills and games. Concentration of the weight near the athlete's hand(s) also reduces risk of injury. In embodiments, additional weights can be added to the apparatus as needed. In embodiments, the apparatus includes a flexible inner member that is pressed against the shaft of the implement by threading thereon of an outer member. A longitudinal spring can be included to create tension between elements of the apparatus.

摘要： An apparatus for impeding beach erosion is light, inexpensive to install, and easy to remove. The apparatus includes a sea-facing barrier wall penetrated by large holes that allow water mixed with sand to enter the apparatus. After the entrained sand has settled, the water drains out through smaller holes provided in a rear wall. The top of the barrier wall can be curved to direct water back toward the sea. The barrier wall can extend above the rear wall, and a backstop wall can be provided that forms an additional sand-collecting chamber behind the rear wall. The walls can be made from plywood, metal, or plastic between one quarter and two inches thick. Embodiments can be disassembled and/or folded for transport and storage. Internal reinforcing partition walls can extend between the barrier and rear walls. The apparatus can be anchored by a base and/or anchoring stakes.

摘要： An auto-ICAS compliant system and method of avoiding collisions between aircraft linked by a Link 16 network comprises establishing an ICAS datalink between aircraft less than 10 nautical miles apart. Datalink messages generated and processed by ICAS datalink modules are transmitted and received by Link 16 receivers rather than dedicated ICAS transceivers. The datalink messages are embedded within the propagation delay portions of Link 16 timeslots and exchanged among up to 10 nearby aircraft at a data rate of up to 20 Hz each. Because each Link 16 timeslot can contain a Link 16 message and two 768-bit ICAS datalink messages, conventional Link 16 communication is not impeded. Datalink messages can be software encrypted. Link 16 messages can be encoded using an enhanced throughput Link 16 protocol that includes fewer preamble pulses and/or eliminates STN information. Embedded datalink messages can be transmitted at 1 Watt by a MIDS-JTRS CMN4.

Zone valve packaging of a compact header improves hydronic performance (head pressure reduction and increased flow), complementing zone valve performance and reducing zone valve wiring labor and material content. Returns have full port valves and the boiler includes isolation valves. All manually activated valves are full port. This can include full port boiler isolation valves, circulator isolation valves and return valves. Paralleled, ganged, alignment of state-indicating-lamped zone valves provides rapid, functional indication of component and system performance while the need for a zone valve panel commonly found on hydronic heating systems is negated.

A water barrier can be placed below the mat. The cover can be placed on or suspended above the mat. SAP, seeds, and/or additional water barriers can be placed between mats in a stack. The opacity of the cover can be increased to emulate shade from natural vegetation. A water distribution system can be included for continued support of the vegetation, and can include a water reservoir and/or at least one solar still.
