    • The present invention provides for a firearm having a receiver defining a bore with the receiver extending along a longitudinal axis. The receiver defines an ejection port transverse to the longitudinal axis with the bore defining an inner surface. The firearm further includes a bolt carrier disposed in the bore and moveable relative to the receiver along the longitudinal axis between a firing position and a rearward position. The firearm also includes a shield longitudinally affixed to the bolt carrier and movable with the bolt carrier as a unit between the firing and rearward positions along the longitudinal axis with the shield blocking the ejection port when in the firing position and the shield sliding along the inner surface away from the ejection port when moving to the rearward position in conjunction with the bolt carrier.

    • A filling valve assembly including a support adapted for being operably fixed to a filling machine and through which a liquid is conveyed from the filling machine. The filling valve assembly includes a valve subassembly interchangeably attached to the support, the valve subassembly and support having integrated fluid passages in fluid communication when the valve subassembly is attached to the support. At least a portion of the liquid received by the support from the filling machine is conveyed to the valve subassembly, and at least a portion of the liquid received by the valve subassembly from the support is selectively dispensed from the valve subassembly. The fluid passages of the support and the valve subassembly are connected through fluid openings located in respective interfacing surfaces of the valve subassembly and the support, when the valve subassembly is attached to the support.     • The subject invention discloses a variety of different maintenance devices for use with a filling valve apparatus. The maintenance devices each include a movable component and a locking mechanism. An actuator of the locking mechanism is coupled to a caming section of the movable component for moving the movable component between a release position with a rim of the movable component spaced from fingers of the locking mechanism and an engaged position with the rim abutting the fingers. The fingers are wedged between the movable component and the filling valve apparatus when the movable component is in the engaged position for securing the device to the filling valve apparatus.

    • A counter rotational package wrapping removal system and method of operation for cutting wrapping from a wrapped product has a transport for continuously moving the wrapped product in a downstream direction as the wrapping is cut. The system has a first cutter located at a distal end of a pivoting arm and preferably a second cutter located at the distal end of a second pivoting arm. Both cutters cut at least a portion of the wrapping along a leading side face of the wrapped product and each cutter cuts the wrapping at respective flanking side faces as the wrapped product move along the transport. The arms pivot in opposite directions and about respective pivoting axis orientated substantially parallel to one another and preferably perpendicular to the transport.

    • A capping device fits caps onto containers by applying an axial force to the caps as they are threaded onto the containers. The capping device utilizes a drive member rotatable about an operational axis for imparting rotation to a capper body slidably coupled to the drive member. A helical spring urges the capper body away from the drive member with a biasing force. An adjustment mechanism adjusts the biasing force thereby adjusting the axial force applied to the caps as they are threaded onto the containers. A pair of retaining pins move between a latched position to prevent adjustment of the biasing force and an unlatched position to allow adjustment of the biasing force. The retaining pins are biased in the latched position to prevent inadvertent adjustment of the biasing force during use.
