    • A method and system are provided for converting wideband analog radio frequency (RF) signals to a digital domain. In an implementation, the system comprises: an amplifier for receiving and amplifying a first wideband analog RF signal comprising one or more first narrowband analog RF signals, each first narrowband analog RF signal occupying a distinct non-overlapping spectral band within a spectrum of the first wideband analog RF signal; N down converter modules; N analog-to-digital converters (ADCs); and a cross-connect for connecting any one of the N down converter modules to one or more of the N ADCs to analog-to-digital convert only the first narrowband analog RF signals occupying the distinct non-overlapping spectral bands. The method and system of the present disclosure track the occupied bandwidth of the narrowband analog RF signals that make up a wideband analog RF signal rather than a total bandwidth of the wideband analog RF signal.

    • This application discusses, among other things, apparatus and methods for suppressing irrelevant edges of a phase modulated signal. In an example, a method can include receiving phase modulation information at a suppression circuit of a communication device, computing distances between transitions of a phase modulation signal, the phase modulation signal associated with the phase modulation information, comparing the distances to a threshold distance at a comparator of the suppression circuit, and suppressing a first transition of the phase modulation signal associated with the phase modulation information if a first distance is less than the threshold distance.

    • A phase-domain delta-sigma (ΔΣ) modulator in a phase digitizer determines a demodulated phase error based on a phase-modulated frequency signal, in which a carrier frequency is modulated with a fundamental frequency and an associated phase, and a selected one of a set of reference signals, where the demodulated phase error represents a difference between the phase and a reference phase of the selected one of the set of reference signals. Moreover, a digital filter in the phase-domain ΔΣ modulator filters the demodulated phase error. Furthermore, a latch in the phase-domain ΔΣ modulator provides a bit stream by sampling one or more bits of the filtered demodulated phase error, where an average value of the bit stream represents the phase. Next, control logic in the phase-domain ΔΣ modulator selects the one of the set of reference signals.
