    • When forming a test chart for investigating output characteristic relating to yellow color agent, a printer outputs yellow color agent in a plurality of densities that correspond to various density levels and also outputs cyan color agent in a fixed and maximum density. Patches in gradations from cyan to green are formed by overlapping the yellow color agent and the cyan color agent. The patches are formed with respect to a surrounding area that is formed by outputting the cyan color agent in the fixed and maximum density. Accordingly, the colors of the patches are easier to distinguish than when the patches are formed from yellow only. Visual calibration can be easily performed even with the yellow color agent that has a low visual sensitivity.

    • A printing apparatus is provided with multiple achromatic color inks having different densities and at least one chromatic color ink. Diversity of dots are created with the multiple achromatic color inks on a printing medium according to image data to form a black and white image where dots are inconspicuous. Dots of the at least one chromatic color ink are created according to lightness of an image to be mixed with the dots of at least one of the multiple achromatic color inks. This technique gives a high-quality monochromatic image with hue, where dots are inconspicuous. In the case of the printing apparatus provided with multiple chromatic color inks, a ratio of densities of these multiple chromatic color inks to one another is set to express a high-quality monochromatic image with desired hues. The printing apparatus provided with three different color inks, cyan, magenta yellow, as the multiple chromatic color inks, enables color images to be printed.

    • A method, system and computer program product for efficiently handling client requests in a server farm. A server in the server farm may comprise a hardfile constrained to activate a limited number of logical partitions. The hardfile may store a partition table that defines the logical partitions activated. An image may refer to a collection of the limited number of logical partitions. Each image may be associated with a web site. Hence, the server may host a web site associated with the image currently active. The server may further store an image definition table storing a listing of images. An image associated with a different web site than the web site hosted may be selected. The logical partitions of the image selected may substitute the logical partitions defined in the partition table. Consequently, the server hosts a different web site without copying the old image or installing the new image.
