摘要： An improved method of manufacturing support posts that are commonly formed from wound paper tubes. With this invention, a number of material layers are laminated together and formed in a continuous manner while they are still pliable. Materials are taken from a number of rolls that is equal to the number of layers required within the finished product. The individual layers are drawn through a glue station where adhesive is applied between each layer. The finished shape is created by bringing together all of the layers, then progressively folding them around a heated mandrel that has been shaped to match the inner hollow space of a formed paper tube corner post design.

A continuous supply of a filter material is formed into a continuous filter rod by a rod-forming unit. A rod-dividing unit is configured to subdivide the continuous filter rod, at predetermined intervals along the longitudinal axis thereof, into a plurality of filter rod portions such that each filter rod portion includes at least one first object and at least one second object disposed therein, with the first objects being different from the second objects.

Setting of the filter segments in a repeating group on the exit path is accomplished by delay in collecting segments by a transferring element in each module of the apparatus. Uniform positioning is effected using the transferring element which includes uniformly spaced drivers, and non-uniform positioning is effected using the transferring element with non-uniformly spaced drivers. The apparatus includes a guiding element positioned adjacent to a cutting drum and has a wall closing a channel for a set of segments drawn out of a flute on the drum. The filter set is led through the channel with the aid of a dog of a chain and is advanced by a worm surface of a pushing together drum.
