The thermoplastic polyurethanes described herein having superior stiffness and softening properties may be fabricated into film, tubing, and other forms of medical devices. The thermoplastic polyurethanes comprise: an aromatic diisocyanate excluding non-aromatic diisocyanates; at least one polyglycol; and a chain extender comprising at least one side-chain branching diol and excluding linear diols.

摘要： This disclosure describes a method and apparatus for agglomerating stover to produce a liquid absorbing particle. The method comprises providing stover particles coated with a first binder component and then rolling the stover particles coated with the first binder component on a rotating surface. The rotating surface is inclined sufficiently to aid in the rolling of the stover particles. A second liquid binder component that readily chemically crosslinks with the first binder component is applied to the first binder component to produce a web that the stover particles adhere to. The web in combination with the inclined rotating surface rolls the stover particles thereby forming an agglomerated stover particle that will be suitable for absorbing liquids. Agglomerated stover particles are also described.

摘要： A portable apparatus for producing sulphur granules includes a granulator with a rotatable drum having distinct zones for seed generation and product growth. The seed generation zone has an intense water spray pattern for each sulphur spray nozzle with intersecting water sprays to solidify molten sulphur and create seeds. The growth zone has a moderate, non-intersecting water spray pattern to allow sulphur nozzles to coat and grow a curtain of seeds into granules. The granulator's exhaust air is filtered either by a heated cyclone separator to recapture residual sulphur particles and moisture before venting, and/or by a granular air filter which uses the produced granules to filter the granulator's exhaust air. A two piece collar enhances maintenance of the granulator's drive system.

A method of producing equal-sized spherical shaped composite abrasive agglomerate beads containing small diamond abrasive particles is described. These beads can be bonded directly on the flat surface of a flexible backing or bonded onto raised island surfaces. Simple and inexpensive apparatus devices and process techniques are described that allow efficient low-volume batch or continuous web manufacturing of precision thickness, large diameter abrasive disk or rectangular sheet abrasive articles.

摘要： Toughened compositions of PLA and PLA copolymers are disclosed, which also have low tensile modulus values and greater elongation to break. These toughened compositions are prepared by blending PLA and PLA copolymers with poly-4-hydroxybutyrate, and copolymers thereof. Blending of poly-4-hydroxybutyrate with PLA and its copolymers has been found to impart advantageous properties to the resulting blend. These compositions, and objects formed from these compositions, have improved toughness and lower stiffness than polylactic acid polymers or copolymers alone.
