    • A thermally activated pressure relief valve includes a valve housing with an inlet communicating with an interior of a pressure vessel, and a passage from the inlet, through the housing, to an outlet for communicating with the exterior of the housing. A seal plug is disposed within a cavity of the housing and across the passage for sealing the passage. A thermal trigger engages the seal plug within the cavity to restrict movement of the seal plug and maintain a seal of the passage when a temperature adjacent to the housing is below a predetermined temperature threshold. The thermal trigger releases the seal plug, which is movable within the cavity, allowing the seal plug to relocate within the cavity when the temperature reaches the predetermined temperature threshold, thereby exposing a flow path between the inlet and outlet through which gas can escape.

    • A temperature regulating apparatus for an air-circulated refrigerator is disclosed, capable of keeping the refrigeration room temperature constant by way of closely regulating the flow rate of cold air admitted into the refrigeration room. Also disclosed is a control device for controlling operation of the temperature regulating apparatus. Such a temperature regulating apparatus comprises a core member 50 either extendible to open up the cold air inlet port 12 or retractable to close off the same. A multiple turns of a coil 54 surrounds the core member 50 in order to produce a varying level of inductance i.e. an electrical signal proportional to the axial displacement of the core member 50. This electrical position signal is transmitted to a control device 20 which serves to control the operation of the damper flap actuator based on the temperature signal from a temperature sensor 22.

    • The invention is directed to a novel manually overrideable heat sensitive valve. In a particular embodiment, this invention is directed to a novel faucet aerator which contains the valve. The faucet aerator, when affixed to a water faucet, can stop the flow of water when harmful temperatures are reached. The invention incorporates an external bypass means enabling the user to access higher temperatures when needed or to restart the flow of water. The Anti-Scald Aerator comprises (a) a thermal actuated valving means for automatically restricting the flow of water; (b) air and water mixing means (Aerator Component) for producing a foam-like flow of water; (c) Manually operated reset or bypass means for overriding the thermal valve; and (d) connecting housing means for securing the aerator to a water supply.

    • A stepped piston is axially displaceable in the stepped piston valve chamber and has a front face facing the front face of the valve seat and an axially opposite surface formed at the juncture of its piston head portion to its reduced diameter shaft portion. The piston has an axial through-bore that opens to fluid connecting bore in the valve housing while the housing has a second fluid connecting bore. An insert deformable under a physical parameter, for example made of one of a piezo-electric material and a magnetostrictive material, is arranged in one of the front faces such that the gap is enlarged when the insert contracts the pressure on the piston front face changes and the piston moves from one of its position to the other. One of the connecting bores is an outlet bore and the other is pressurized fluid inlet.
