    • Friction clutch reaction plate assemblies include two thin reaction plates which are preferably secured together in spaced relation to form a single reaction plate assembly. At least plate includes through openings which improve fluid flow between and around the plates and both plates include projections which align and define the spacing between the plates. The two plates may be secured together by various means such as spot welding, CD welding, laser welding, riveting or an adhesive. The axial space between the splines or teeth which couple the reaction plate to a clutch component (either a hub or a housing) may be reinforced with material to improve surface area contact. The reaction plate assembly has a thickness substantially equal to a conventional reaction plate in order that it may be readily substituted into current friction clutch assemblies.

A deflection device is provided in the fluid chamber wherein the inner disc carrier includes at least one first passage for the cooling liquid to pass through, and the deflection device feeds back at least a first portion of the cooling liquid flowing in a radially outward direction between the friction partners into a radially inward direction to the first passage of the inner disc carrier.

The clutch has a central disk and, on at least one side, a pressure plate.     • A vehicle PTO driveline (10) in which a PTO input shaft (11) drives a PTO wet clutch (12) which when engaged drives a PTO output shaft (13). The driveline has an eccentric formation (34) on the input shaft (11) which oscillates a pumping piston (31) when the input shaft rotates, which piston pumps cooling/lubricating fluid from a reservoir (25c) to the wet clutch (12). The piston is connected with the eccentric formation by a ring (33) which surrounds the eccentric formation (34) and a hollow tube (32) which is attached to the ring and which carries the piston at a lower end, the piston oscillating inside a chamber (31a) when the input shaft rotates. The chamber (31a) is connected with the fluid reservoir (25c) and the oscillating piston pumps the fluid along the hollow tube (32) into the ring (33) which then delivers the fluid into internal passages (38) in the input shaft from where the fluid flows to the wet clutch.

    • A transmission clutch cooling system includes a clutch housing defined between a drive hub of a drive member and a clutch hub of a driven member and a clutch assembly housed in the clutch housing. The clutch hub includes a hub deck having a plurality of bores therethrough, an inner annulus extending axially from the hub deck, and an outer annulus extending axially from the hub deck, the outer annulus including a plurality of radial orifices therethrough and a lip flange extending from a distal end towards the inner annulus. The clutch assembly includes a plurality of clutch plates secured to the drive hub and a plurality of friction plates secured to the driven member. A piston assembly is provided for engaging or disengaging the plurality of friction plates against the plurality of clutch plates to cause or release integrated rotation of the drive member and the driven member.
