摘要： An object of the present invention is to provide: an aqueous metallic paint for automobile interior materials wherein the coating film formed from this paint is not clouded by the aqueous alkali solution; and a coated article with this paint. As a means of achieving this object, an aqueous metallic paint for automobile interior materials, according to the present invention, is a paint comprising a vehicle and a metallic pigment, with the paint being characterized in that the vehicle is an aqueous hydrosol resin formed by hydrosolation of an aqueous acrylic resin having an acid value of 15 to 40 mgKOH/g. In addition, a coated article according to the present invention is coated with the aforementioned aqueous metallic paint according to the present invention for automobile interior materials.

摘要： This invention provides improved methods and compositions for achieving material coloration using particle scattering. These coloration effects can be designed to be either highly stable or dependent upon the switching effects of either temperature, integrated thermal exposure, moisture absorption, or exposure to actinic radiation. Articles employing materials with these coloration effects are described. Composition comprise a solid, light-transmitting matrix component having a non-liquid particle scattering colorant dispersed. Articles are produced wherein another solid second matrix component has an electronic transition colorant dispersed therein and the first and second compositions are disposed on one another and optionally interpenetrate each other. Colored articles are produced in the form of fibers, films and molded articles.

摘要： A method is provided for forming a strippable or dissolvable release coating on the surface of substrate such as a flexible polymeric film or web. The release coating is subsequently coated with a layer of material and then dissolved in a solvent to release the layer. The release coating is made from a copolymer of methylmethacrylate and ethylacrylate or from a homopolymer of polyacrylic acid. Release coatings made of methylmethacrylate and ethylacrylate copolymers having glass transition temperatures of about 60.degree. C. or greater, or made of a ipolyacrylic acid homopolymer having a glass transition temperature of about 100.degree. C. or higher, are also provided. The release coatings provide excellent supporting substrates for the formation of an overcoated metallized layer, are readily strippable in acetone, and can be formed during an in-line process which begins with drawing a flexible film or web from a molten polymeric material. Methods are also provided for making metallized layers used in the production of optically variable flakes and devices.
